If you are facing the display and it turns on, do the fans blow towards your face or away?** A: Away ... the air blows out the non-display side so the unit is protected from the weather if placed in a crawlspace. Been using it for 8 months, so far I'm highly pleased. **Q: Does this unit install under the home inside crawl space? Or out side of home? Will it fit a 16" opening?** A: It's designed to fit in an opening 8"x16", as a foundation vent is. It's the same dimension as a standard concrete block. I removed a foundation vent and installed my ventilator fan in its place in my crawlspace. I works fine. **Q: can it be turned off/on with a smart plug and not use any other method like temp or humidity?** A: I use their register vent smart fans in this manner and it maintains settings. Presuming sane electronics for these I would hope the same **Q: can i put it in a small window and is it weather proof of occasional rain blows on it if rain comes thru window screen? The majority of which operate on a simple dial system for either humidity or temp.Compared to those, this device is absolutely loaded. It allows you to set a maximum fanspeed, trigger the fans to automatically run based on a trigger point you choose which are:High TempLow TempHigh HumidityLow HumidityIt can also be set it to just be ON or OFF as well.You can also set it to start making an alarm beep if the temperature / humidity % goes above or below what you specify.The fans also slowly ramp up to the maximum speed you allow, providing for efficient operation.The device arrived nicely packaged, feels very well made, and comes with everything needed to mount. You get wall screws w/ anchors as well as threaded bolts.It even features an external temp probe that can go a fairly long distance away from the device, allowing for an accurate reading in the area you care about most.They make a version that allows for air to be vented outside as well as a version that allows air to be vented inside. The fans are easy to flip around if you don't mind to taking the unit apart as well.All in all, I highly recommend this device.
