I'm amazed. Clearly the extra money has gone into build quality and motor power. I now use the fine tipped eraser like another pencil. Works beautifully on pencils both coloured and pain and I've just ordered a second one to be sure I always have one with me!!!! Although I already have a Derwent rechargeable eraser, I decided to take the plunge & order the EE-3000. It is expensive & it did have to come from the US, but I am very satisfied with the product. It's supplied with batteries, which are easy to install & is lightweight & comfortable to hold. I use it to create highlights & it performs well removing pigment from Luminance pencils on smooth board. My one minor criticism would be that the power button has to be held down during use (the Derwent can be locked to the On position). Thanks :-)** A: I have not tried it with ballpoint as I believe it may require a different eraser. I only have the original type supplied. I paid £38 including import duty for mine and it's not a pound I regret. If you just want an electric eraser for simple jobs, this won't do anything the £5 models don't.
