With that said, I plan on using a high gloss paint to touch up strictly to avoid rusting. On one hand, kinda miffed that a brand new product wasn’t coated correctly, on the other hand, these are rock solid shackles that I feel confident in. They come in a box in bubble wrap, so I doubt it was transport as box was not damaged. Threading seems good and whole thing feels strong. For $20, I’ll gladly touch them up, and be happy. They’re going to get ruined eventually, all I care about is them working and not rusting, so like everything in life, a little preventative and ongoing maintenance is key. PRO TIP- inspect shackles and touch up before using.
