Or you could drill holes & put some eyelets on back of trailer. You want to keep the straps pulling straight back to the trailer, not on too much of an angle . In my opinion this will not allow the ramp to shift during loading/unloading.My biggest worry is the ramp falling off trailer & bike crashing down during unloading . Loading it tends to push the ramp tight. **Q: Is this a one or two piece ramp? i need to load a bike and a harley trike onto a toy hauler. the trike tire width is approximately 50”** A: trike width of 50 inches side wall to side wall, don't buy this ramp!!! ramp just under 7 ft long, 40 in wide when unfolded. closer to 20 in wide folded up or transported. opens in middle, where it's hinged, but fold would be facing down, no way would ramp fold up on you. you'd have to flip it over for that to theoretically happen. when opened, it is then strapped open in the middle with flat straps. has some tabs at the top end that would go on the sidewalk or onto trailer and fit into grooves there. middle would be strapped open, other end would be on the. underneath, for piece of mind but totally unnecessary, I place like a log/split half log that I put in the gutter to support the ramp. it is then strapped at the top (in my case because I am riding onto a side walk) to something like posts on the chain link gate I have so that it won't slip away as you ride up or down. a fantastic and solid, well-built ramp. I ride a 1984 laverda and wouldn't risk it. high quality, but for you, it will not fit unless you place side ways, but then might have clearance issue, depending on trike. check their other ramps. great product. **Q: Would this ramp work to get a bike in a shed with about an 8 in lift** A: There may be a better solution to span an 8" lift to shed. That said this ramp is very sturdy and the only lighter weight ramp I could find to load my 800 lb. Yamaha Roadliner. **Q: What do you mean by "handles the center weight?" I saw one reviewer complaining about the hing being on the wrong side, and agree, but for different reasons. The design would seem to want to fold when you put weight in the center, as the other reviewer pointed out. But that would only be the case if the ends weren't on the ground and supported on your trailer/truck. But they are, or should be, so the middle of the ramp has no downward direction to move, at least if the ramp is being properly used. The physics are different and this is a non-issue. However, I'd like to see the hinge on the opposite side so you don't have to lumps dead center of the surface you are riding up.It's a sturdy ramp and doesn't flex at all when I ride my 500lb motorcycle up it. Folds well and fits in my trailer. Having previously built several ramps over the years I was pleasantly surprise at the quality of the one I received. Way to go guys!We use it for Harley baggers. They're heavy.This ramp is rock solid. It weighs less than 1/2 what our old ramp did and like it has no perceivable flex when loading.None.It's nice that it folds in half. That makes it much less awkward to handle when placing it or storing it.The ramp is all welded construction. The welds look very good.All the cross pieces you step on, and that the bike tires run on are ribbed aluminum extrusions. They provide good traction for the bike tires and your boot soles. The spacing of the cross pieces is close enough that you never worry about getting a boot caught in the ramp. Very good design. Someone spent a lot of time getting it right.Lastly the ramp I received was American made. The quality of mine is excellent.
