The book remains very "politically correct" for those who are concerned about such, and is appropriate and helpful for any child. This is a sturdy board book version, but unlike most board books, this one has a good bit of text for its size. Therefore it is suitable for reading to children well past the toddler stage. For babies and young toddlers the pages can be briefly paraphrased if desired, and the illustrations are lovely.
