The rubber part is very hard, which is exactly what she needs to help break the gums to get the tooth free. Doesn't stay well on her hand right now, [the strap that secures it doesn't tighten enough around her wrist without bunching it up so she just pulls it off] but as she gets older I'm sure it'll get better. Right now we use the thumb hole as a loop for her links, that way it won't go to far [or to the floor]. The glove part (not rubber) crinkles, which I did not expect, but she loves the sound so it's great!
