Didn’t take me long to decide I wanted it hardwired instead of relying on the battery. I don’t have existing wiring for a doorbell and an electrician wanted over $400 to run new wiring. Can’t afford that. Bought this power adapter and a waterproof cover for the outlet in the front of my house (TayMac MM510C, also available on Amazon, and can be zip-tied or padlocked shut) and just tucked the excess cable behind my siding/door frame. Installed within minutes and it powers and charges my Ring Doorbell 2 battery, which is now always at 100%. I decided that perhaps I should hard wire my doorbell. When researching this I came across this power adaptor. It was much easier that what I would have had to do to hard wire this.
