New fence made a huge difference on my old Rockwell saw. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Some installation issues... but overall a good value. *by R***Z on December 16, 2019* I installed this fence yesterday on my 1939 Delta Unisaw. Overall, it is a pretty simple design. Two rails installed on the front and back of your table. There is a two piece cross rail that bolts between the two fence rails for some added support. The fence itself comes fully assembled, though a lot of adjustments were needed once I got it in the rails. For my install, the mounting holes were in a good location on the front rail, I was able to install and get it lined up just below the miter slots as the instructions suggested. However, on the back rail, the slot in the rail was slightly too small which didn't allow me to to mount in the existing holes. Drilling and tapping two new holes was a some added frustration, however you can't fault shopfox as there are thousands of different table saws out there. One note, while they provided a tap, they didn't include a tap wrench, so make sure you have one available if you need to tap holes. My biggest gripe, is the powder coat on the rails is very thick and interferes with the fence rollers on both the front and back carriage. The rollers were actually binding on the powder coat and causing it to crack and peel off. This is definitely a quality control issue with the rails. In order to get the fence rolling smoothly, I had to track it back and forth breaking the powder coat and sanding down the chunks that remained. I then added a little paste wax and the fence now moves smoothly. The powder coat used for the rails is adding way too much thickness to the angle iron and was poorly adhered. The spring tensioner on the rear carriage was also very loose causing the front rollers to pull off the fence rail when adjusting. This took a few attempts to dial-in but it is not running smoothly. The instruction manual has decent photos and instructions for making adjustments. Overall, I'm happy with the fence, and at ~$200 it's a great value and a huge upgrade over the microset fence I had on my unisaw.
