For use on clothing, tents, sleeping bags, and other outdoor gear, Sawyer Permethrin repels or kills disease-spreading ticks (Lyme disease), mosquitoes (West Nile and Zika viruses) and more than 55 other kinds of insects. Perfect for camping, backpacking, hunting, travel, backyard BBQs, picnics, and more. Permethrin insect and tick repellent adds an odorless layer of protection to shirts, jackets, pants, socks, shoes, sleeping bags, tents, netting, and other outdoor, camping, hunting, and travel gear. A University of Rhode Island study (2017) found that people wearing Permethrin-treated shoes and socks were 73.6 times less likely to have a tick bite than those wearing untreated footwear. Using it on outdoor gear also helps reduce the mosquito population in your camp and prevents ticks from attaching to you. Permethrin spray bonds to fabric fibers for up to 6 weeks (42 days) of exposure to sun or 6 washings. Sawyer Permethrin does not come out from sweat or water contact. It only degrades via UV exposure or the agitation of a washing machine. Specially formulated not to stain or damage your clothing, other fabrics, gear, and equipment, it's odorless after drying and is as effective as 100% DEET. Review: Should help keep Ticks away - So far I have been pleased. This is easy to use and has clear directions. While I can't say it is a great value, it does appear to be a high quality product and you pay for quality. There is NO noticeable odor or discoloration to any of the fabrics or lathers that I have applied it on. Overall I have been very pleased with the quality and performance. Though I doubt their claim for 4-5 outfits from this one bottle. I am probably applying it a bit heavy, as I only get 3 pairs of shoes and 2 outfits out of a bottle. As far as effectiveness, I am using this for ticks, and while I can say I have not gotten any ticks on me while wearing clothes treated with Sayer Permethrin, I can't say that it will always work either. Suggestion to Sawyer: Can you offer your products in a bulk concentrate form? Then allow customers to dilute and apply themselves. It would really help with the value if you offer a lower cost per once of permethrin concentrate option.

Great product. I applied this stuff to all my outfits for an african safari and I hardly had any bugs on me the whole time. Then, when returning home, I wore the clothes out to my land to do some work in the woods and noticed absolutely zero ticks on me, which is amazing considering how many I typically find. I can honestly say this stuff keeps the ticks away - I'll ocassionally find one or two after spending all day in the thick stuff, but I'm used to finding 10+ on me after a day like that, so this stuff really is well worth it. My clothes have been through 3 or 4 washes with it so far and it still seems to be working well. Almost due for a new application so I'll order more soon.
