A good choice for a 9-year-old
I was fussy about the binoculars that I bought for myself, and when I went to pick out binoculars for a 9-year-old boy, I didn't even intend to look at the plastic models that are marketed for kids. This model caught my attention, though, and for a child, it's actually a better choice than any low-cost "adult" binoculars. It's very light so a child can hike with it around his neck without passing it off for the adults to carry. It has a breakaway neck strap that can't accidentally strangle the child. The image is adequately bright, and the power is high enough to be satisfying, but not so high as to make it hard to hold steady. It's supposedly splash-proof and somewhat drop-proof. I thought a 9-year-old might think it looked too childish, but be was very pleased with its appearance. And he was amused that he could look through these binoculars backwards and make his hands seem little and far away.

Perfect Gift for young child
I can not thank you enough for the binoculars, what a terrific gift this is!!! My five-year old great nephew took to using them immediately upon opening his present. He is able to grasp the binoculars easily, the grips are perfect for tiny fingers. The resolution and focusing is easily accomplished too. I'm very pleased with the construction of the device. The neck strap was attached with ease as wellAnd the packaging is just right, plenty of cushion and not an overload of cardboard.I highly recommend this as a gift for any child!!!

Great first pair of binoculars
Bought these for my 5 year old son to use when we go hiking and camping. He loves them, they are compact and lightweight so he can carry them without issue and the focus knob is easy to use for small hands. The included neck strap is adjustable and has a quick-release catch on it so the binoculars can be easily removed from the strap when not on the trail. They even came with a microfiber cleaning cloth for polishing the eyepiece and a little bag for storage and protection. So he feels just like mom.

Perfect for Kids!
Absolutely love this product. I ordered for my 7-year-old son, and he can’t put them down!
