Princeton Select Artiste, Series 3750, Paint Brush for Acrylic, Watercolor and Oil, Flat Wash, 1 Inch

I've purchased these in a variety of shapes and they've all been a great value. This 1" inch flat is very handy in watercolors for horizon lines, horizontal reflection scenes and while it's a big brush, it can be nimble as well. In the same series you can purchase "blenders" in various sizes and while I think their primary design is for acrylic and oil blending, they're awesome for stippling in foliage with watercolor. The handles are short enough for a smaller travel box, so that's definitely a plus. Very pleased with this purchase.

A nice brush for my return to watercolors, though this is also appropriate for acrylic. The bristles pick up the paint well. The smoothness of the brush helps to glide the paint onto the paper. The handle is easy to hold and use. A good brush for the price.

I had heard Princeton brushes were good quality but it wasn’t until I bought this wash brush and used it for the first time that it was SOO incredible, I can’t wait to toss all my brushes and replace them with Princeton brand!! The brush strokes across the paper like butter! It is so smooth and controlled and holds and releases the precise amount of water or paint needed. I am infatuated with this brush! The price is a STEAL. The size is just perfect. Not brush marks or loose bristles or anything. Absolutely incredible brush!

I’m using it for acrylic right now but it’ll also be a good one for watercolor. It’s a springy brush and it also makes a nice soft line. I’ve been mashing it on a board with acrylic paint in it and it takes the abuse but still cleans up. I also soak it in water when I’m not using it and no bristles have come out.

I did not want to order a bunch of brushes for my new project. I used to make art in a way where I would just get a lot of disposable brushes from the hardware store and not care about them. I decided that instead I wanted one singular all-purpose painting and craft brush that was not so fancy that it was weird, but not so cheap that it was disposable. I started looking at brushes for kids and I noticed they have these short stubby kind of handles that just looked like something fantastic to hold. So, after looking at a lot of multi-brush sets, I decided to just get this one brush which is basically the price of the cheapest full set of multiple brushes. I just didn't want another art set to keep up with. I am a 40+ year old dude who was ready to get a versatile brush that was worth taking care of but not made out of some crazy animal hair or whatever. This is for sure exactly everything I had hoped this brush would be. You could get one with a slanted bristle cut, if you just wanted to do edges and corners, but this does edges and corners, plus flattens out nicely to make it less tedious to cover bigger areas. I have been using it to apply a faux rust finish to various metal and plastic surfaces. It is very easy to clean and I don't picture needing another brush for a good while. The bristles are soft, not stiff, and they don't come out while you are painting like cheaper brushes do. You probably need one of these.

Superb flat brush. Don’t fall into the trap that it’s just the same as cheaper models - it’s not. You won’t be disappointed.
