Upgrade to bigger tire
Bought the 26 X 2.24, upgrade on my 2006 Diamondback Response, what a difference it made, rides more comfortable and very good on moderate trails that are muddy, wet, and slippery.

26 is alive and kickin
When the industry took a fat dump on 26, I held out for a long time but finally got a 5010. So I Got this for my wife’s bike - s works pro carbon 26’r. She will never ride a 27.5 since 26 is perfect for her. It’s a crazy light bike too. Got the 2.4 and ran it tube less. She loves it.

Sent upgrade instead of ordered tire
I ordered a Trail King and they sent a Der Kaiser version in the same size instead. Normally this would be a problem, but in this case the Der Kaiser is a superior tire for my application. It weighs on a few grams more, so there's no complaint from me. Tire is a little more durable, especially for tubeless setup and conditions I ride in.

Order as a set or you might get 2 different styles. Also watch out for wobble on the 26” size
This my my 2end set of tires. I was slightly dissapointed with my first. My first order was placed 2 days apart. Which resulted in getting 2 different styles of mountain Kings from 2 different suppliers. It’s the same tire but the lettering and “compound” is different. I liked them and already mounted them on my 29er so I kept them. My second set I made sure to order them together to avoid amazon shipping from different warehouses. They lost one....shipped a second, fortunately this time I received identical tires. HOWEVER to my major dissapointment both tires have a severe WOBBLE to them. It’s a 26er and the tires fit really tight, and no matter how many times I remounted I could not get the wobble to go away. Maybe if I put in a few miles it will center out? Nope it did not. I’ve spent close to $300 on both sets to give it a 1 star rating. They look really cool, but chances are I won’t buy them ever again.Update: the wobble went away eventually, but always comes back if I re mount the tire. I have to pump it up to almost 60psi to get it to fully seat max recommenced is 51psi. I really like the tires just not really happy at first.

Great tires
The new design of these tires helps seal against the wheel much better than the old style tires as well.

Just perfect!
I bought a pair of Trail Kings to put on my 26inch Gary Fisher Roscoe III. The upgrade was really incredible, the work excellent in almost all conditions, and are incredibly predictable in the few conditions that aren't at its best. Simply, I just found my tires.

Chili
Are serious off road tire. If buying to just look cool buy something else. These are made to ride hard and dirty. And they do that just fine.

Impossibly tight fit on older 26" rim
OK, I bought the 26" version of this tire for a quite old mountain bike. The rim is probably 20 years old but it is a standard Mavic. The tire was so tight I could almost not get it on. Was even a struggle using solid steel motorcycle tire levers. So basically if I get a flat on the trail I'm done. There would be no way to get this tire off for repair without carrying the giant steel motorcycle tire levers. I have changed a lot of mtb tires in my 30 plus years of riding, also road and off road mc tires, but I have never seen a bike tire so ridiculously tight. Are German rims smaller than American? Have mountain bike rims gotten smaller over the last decade? Mystifying.

Great trail tyres
This review is for the Trail King Protection Apex tyres in 2.4 size. Very good tyres overall. Low rolling resistance (for this kind of knobby tyres), good grip on trails in dry and even wet conditions. I have a tubeless setup and these tyres absorb roots and rocks really well.
