John BoosJNS08 Maple Top Work Table with Galvanized Steel Base and Adjustable Galvanized Lower Shelf, 36"Long x 30" Wide x 1-1/2" Thick

I wanted to like this chop block island. It arrived quick, was easy to assemble, was on sale and looks great. However after just a couple weeks the chop block is developing cracks between the glued blocks of maple.It’s just poorly made and now I’m stuck with a table that’s literally falling apart before my eyes.******UPDATE**************I have since learned that low humidity is drying out the blocks and causing the cracking. I bought some of that boos oil and have been applying monthly, sawdust/glue puttying in the cracks, as well as gluing popsicle sticks to the underside when cracks appear for reinforcement (mostly in the corner areas). This monthly regimen seems to have fixed the issues... and it is such a beautiful kitchen island that I receive complements on all the time. So in fairness I wanted to come back and re-review this item to properly to reflect a this is a beautiful table that the owner should expect to take some work to maintain for long term use.

Packaging was a bit trashed on the outside when it arrived, but everything inside was well protected and in fine shape. It was easy to assemble and sits nice and level and square. The only thing I’m disappointed in is the lack of ‘Boos’ Branding stamp on the block - it’s completely blank. This is a bit of a bummer because a premium is paid for this brand.

It’s looks great in my kitchen , if you’re a cook or trying to be this is a must have.

After tedious research on this product I felt that it would be a great fit in the kitchen for me. No issues with shipping. Open the box for an initial inspection to find on the bottom side of the table has cracks already in the wood and filler in what was a knot. I had much higher expectations in the build quality and quality control which lacked with this item. The drilled holes were noticeably out of alignment with the hardware and and to struggle to get them seated correctly. Disappointed in the company for allowing this to be on the market, especially given the price.

This table is not cheap, nor complicated to put together. Yet, they managed to misalign pre-drilled holes to the fittings. Like they have only one job and failed. And speaking of fittings, the legs have blemishes like it rolled straight out of the fabricating warehouse. For the price and brand I expect better quality.

We fell in love with the table as soon as we opened it. One of the easiest items I've ever put together and you can adjust the height of the bottom shelf and the bottom of the legs will unscrew if you need to level the table!!!!
