So smooth.
Only had Mezcal once before and it was a fairly cheap bottle. This is like drinking pure cactus juice! So smooth with a lovely distinct flavor. Whatever you do, don't waste this with the whole Lime & Salt malarky. It would be like tipping rola cola into a fine single malt!

Great Mezcal.
Ilegal Mezcal is the most balanced and agave forwards Mezcal I have ever had. It is amazing to Drinking it neat or in cocktails. I did some research and the brand does some great philanthropy and helps out in so many areas. I highly recommend giving it a try. I am looking forwards to trying the Reposado and Anejo.

Ziemlich teuer, aber es lohnt sich
Mezcal ist eh meist nicht billig, und dieser hier gleich zweimal nicht, aber dafür ist Ilegal auch (bisher) mein Lieblingsmezcal. Leider kriegt man echten Mezcal in Deutschland im Geschäft kaum noch, nachdem ein kurzzeitiger Hype vor ein paar Jahren abebbte, und wenn dann meist nur San Cosme, der okay, aber absolut nicht herausragend ist. "Ilegal" schmeckt rauchig und intensiv, aber trotzdem doch nicht scharf, sondern eben genau so, wie ein Mezcal schmecken sollte. Man sollte ihn wirklich etwas zelebrieren und auf jeden Fall pur trinken, für Mixgetränke oder das "Salz und Zitrone"-Ritual ist er viel zu schade.
