miklos jancso's masterpiece.
Hungarian cinema will never be to everyones taste but if you fancy a change from the rubbish Hollywood churns out these days this will certainly provide that. made back in the 70s it follows jancso's regular theme of the military as the bad influence and the peasantry as the good guys. lots of sex and nudity even by 70s standards when cinema was far less puritanical
