Very Good Quality Time for Couples
I've had my eyes set on this game for quite some time and at last I got my hands on it. The inclusion of the mobile was not something I am very keen on in board games but it turned out to be much better than I expected. The cases and the characters are very well built so far and I love the graphic design of the materials. Plus as someone that is called OCD a few times, the box design is bliss. It has special compartments for every piece and also extra compartments for the pieces that come with the expansions and makes sure that nothing gets jumbled up when you put the game up on the shelf. I don't think I will be playing any of the cases twice because I don't like stories that I know the twists beforehand. But the two expansions and new cases that are being available through the app makes this game playable for a long time. I am playing this with my wife. I think that is the best number of players for this game because with more than two it may get boring for some of the players. I didn't use my low cost VR case that you can put the mobile in for the VR scenes which seemed too much of an effort at the time. Maybe it may be better like that but checking the VR scenes directly on your phone with two sets of eyes seemed rather more advantageous. All in all 10/10.

One of my favourite board games
I love this game. The art work and game play are great. If you like things like cluedo/sherlock Holmes etc I think you'll really enjoy this game. The only minor fault is I think the game was made in France and translated to English, so occasionally you might come across a slightly incorrect translation/grammatical error, but that is more to do with the app you use to play the game, rather than the board and pieces.

Very enjoyable and involving fun for 1-6 people
This is the first puzzle game I've tried that blends a board and phsyical cards with virtual reality on a phone. Learning how it all works takes a while and I totally recommend playing the tutorial case first which is very enjoyable in itself. After we had done that we felt we know how to navigate around London and the various scenes and were ready to tackle our first proper mystery. Mind you, we took 90 mins to complete the tutorial puzzle so we left it there to start a fully-fledged game another day. The props and design of the game is very good quality and I would definitely recommend this game to anyone even if they've never tried a hybrid booard game / virtual game before. Good value for money in my opinion.

Fantastic experience
I wasn’t sure about this upon purchasing but after playing through all of the supplied investigations (and since ordering the Noir expansion) I can say that playing Chronicles of Crime with my friends has been one of the best gaming experiences. We finished one of the investigations last night and a friend said it actually gave them goose bumps as the story progressed and confirmed we were on the right track. This game is all about discussion and trying to figure out everyone’s motives. It’s so well written and I can’t wait for more content and expansions. To address some of the negative comments; we play with one person in control of the app (the app is great and hasn’t once crashed or caused any problems), who then reads the text to everyone, kind of like a dungeon master. Then we all discuss what we should do next and what we think is going on and who’s doing what. We use notepads for everyone to take their own notes on too. The time constraints really add pressure on which leads to follows. We love it.

Poor value for money
Yes - the concept is quite good and the app usage is good. But two key issues - firstly, the language is pretty rubbish, given its set in London. You’d think a professional games manufacturer would have the language reviewed by someone who actually knows English. But the worst part of this is the fact you pay £25 plus and you get about 7-8 hours of gameplay only. More scenarios are available but cost a fiver each. Which is a bit of a piss take. And the Noir add on is only available at about £50 from third parties. So, there are other games out there where you get a lot more for your money.

Original, collaborative mix of board game and app that engages everyone well with the theme.
This is an original idea, crime stories supported by an App. It works well as a cooperative board game and the VR crime scene analyses are great fun, everyone wants a go, even the not so young and tech minded but everyone remains involved. We had great fun playing over a Christmas. It can feel a little like random scanning at some points. Clues and cards don’t always totally match. Once you’ve played a few probably need a break for a period to reignite the suspension of disbelief required to submerge in the theme. But overall definitely worth my pennies and looking forward to playing more stories.

A fast favourite!
Wow. This game is exactly the kind of game I've been looking. Feels like the closest thing to a real investigation I've experienced so far! Easy to learn , very well executed, unique and enjoyable. I really look forward to playing more scenarios and expansions packs.

Great game. Limited content
A clever and original detective game. You need the app to play, but it integrates very well and the interactive/AR crime scenes are a highlight of play. The 5 cases that come with the game are great, but sadly as they are a one-and-done experience you're likely to run out of content fast. More scenarios are available to download, but this ramps up the real cost of the game and should be worth noting going in. There are even other themed expansions available, but again, this ramps up cost. You're looking at the best part of £5 per extra scenario, so if you really like this game it's going to cost you. Financials aside a really fun experience and a great game in and of itself.

Best boardgame ever!
Absolutely love how interactive this game. There are multiple cases to solve with expansion packs both online and offline. You can download the App and look through the cases to see if they are the kind you are interested about. My sister and I really spent a range of 1.5hours to 5 hours for different cases of different difficulty levels. It's not limited to the standard 5 suspects from games of other brands so it makes you really think out of the box. The game flow changes depending on what you have scanned. E.g. only if you scanned an evidence and had a Hacker check it and only then will the suspects answer change accordindly. This also means if you missed out on some clues, its possible you will never be introduced to certain suspects or locations. Thus not completely the full game or giving you the whole picture. Although they give the 'solution' which is like an ending/ conclusion of the game. They don't disclose or inform the clues/ actions you missed and thus giving you a lower score. Thats the only irked part. However a simple google search might give you hints from other players on areas you missed and how to solve the game quick. I've played this detective series from other brands (Hunt a killer, Murder Mystery)

A Global Companion and Forever Favorite. 10 stars if I could
I own every version and expansion of Chronicles of Crime, and it’s easily one of my all-time favorite games. I backed the series on Kickstarter, traveled with it across continents, and introduced it to more people than I can count. I’ve played it solo, with friends in Europe, and with complete strangers all over North America — and it’s been a blast every single time. It’s the one game I always pack so I have something better to do than doom-scrolling during long trips. What I love The scenarios are well-paced with consistently strong writing. The QR-based investigation system makes each case feel immersive. The app is stable and polished across every version and expansion. Replayability stays high thanks to branching paths and clue variations. It works with any group size: solo, two-player, or a full table. Every box adds a distinct theme and gameplay twist. Fast setup and teardown for a narrative-heavy game. Very easy to teach, even to absolute beginners. What I like less The difficulty balance jumps around from case to case. Some scenarios reward scanning everything just to rule things out. It depends on a charged phone, so it’s not fully analog. Summary A standout storytelling and investigation system that stays fresh across countless scenarios. After backing it on Kickstarter, traveling with it worldwide, and teaching it everywhere from Belgium to the U.S., it remains one of the most reliable, fun, and replayable games in my entire collection. I’m genuinely excited to see what the next Chronicles installment will bring.

One of the best detective games
There are multiple cases I can enjoy with my friends. The game setting resembles real world investigation where you need to gather information from locations, people, and clues by yourself without hint. It’s also possible to buy more cases online.

Interesante
