Well-written and practically oriented overview of multiple imputation
Provides a well-written and practically oriented overview of multiple imputation methodology. It is written by the author of R's mice package for multiple imputation, and (as would be expected) demonstrates the use of that package where illustrating methods & examples of utilizing multiple imputation, as well as associated diagnostics. The mice package is one of the more capable packages available for multiple imputation, though the authors provide an overview of alternative packages in an appendix; an appendix providing a summary of the mice data and functions would be a nice addition in future editions. The color figures are very helpful in illustrating the points made in the text.Speaking of color... my first copy of this book had serious problems with the printed color figures. I contacted the publisher, which advised me to exchange through Amazon, which sent me another copy with even worse problems. I explained this to the publisher, and they recalled all the copies from retailers, ran another print run which correctly printed the color figures, and sent me a good copy of the book. It is impressive to see a publisher take responsibility for the problem in this fashion.

Excellent and practical book
This superb text provides detailed information on multiple imputation and the use of the R package mice. The theoretical and mathematical material is well-covered, with additional information for more statistically oriented readers. The examples are clear and well-described and the book is easy to follow. I would highly recommend this for people who are interested in imputation approaches for missing data.

A Fine Contribution
As someone who is vexed with missing and censored data, this text on flexible imputation is a well organized and clear exposition of the subject.
