a wonderful and informative book!
I received this book over the weekend and jumped into it right away. My experience with webdesign was strictly flash based (please see [...] for samples) for the past eight years and with the advent of the ipad I knew things needed/are going to change. Don't get me wrong, I love flash design but to keep my clients happy I needed to offer them an ipad and iphone version of their sites as well. I bought, in the last month, several books on html5, javascript and css3 and even started working in dreamweaver5.5 to best utilize the new languages (not really new but you know what I mean). I happened to search for ipad design on amazon and I found this book which is a tremendous trove of exceptional info for exactly what I wanted to do. Everyday I read another chapter of this book and by the end of the day my ipad website gets cooler and more complex. The fun and easy writing style by the authors make this book more approachable and a delight to read. It is presented in a step by step process, broken down into categories which you can work through in sequence or jump around. The great thing is everything I want to do on the ipad is here. This book makes my quest so much easier. It is well worth the price.

slightly disappointing
I purchased the previous mobile web design for Dummies and to be honest its not much different. One thing I find it lacks is the fact that both books do not explain the real difficulties of finding the correct php server instructions that actually work for detection of the mobile browser. Also there is a certain order in which you do things and for someone who is not into server relating php coding it doesn't explain the black and white basics of where to even place your php coding, particularly if you already have a main web site. The Designing of a mobile page is easy, its the backend that kills it dead in the water, if you are clueless on the intricate coding and set up of the server side of things.

I recommend this book
This is a pretty good book if you already know the basics of HTML. I use it a lot and would recommend it highly to any developer.
