KAWELL® Two-pack 60 Degree 42W LED Flood Light Round Off Road Lighting 12V (plus almost one year review).
This product just arrived yesterday (earlier than scheduled, used standard ground shipping). Well packaged in cardboard boxes inside Styrofoam envelopes and padded with Styrofoam blocks. These items appeared well built, heavier than other models (square type)of the similar lumen rating . Lens appears very durable, cooling fins on rear of light.Long (my estimate)12 inch wires (2 per light, nice weather proof outer sheath, black and red wires within) with aluminum wire inside (appears to be 14 or 16 gauge). No switches were included nor advertised as part of this purchase.Hardware is 13mm bolt heads and nuts, bright chrome finish, includes locking washers. Both lights work upon connection and appear very bright. All hardware needed to mount these lights were included and sealed in clear plastic zip lock baggies. These lights were used to replace the same diameter halogen back up lights below the rear bumper of my 2006 dually.Huge improvement with 10 times more light (by my estimate) and longer range than halogen work flood lights. These are LED 60 degree flood lights for short range, not spot lights (for long range).I also have 2 square 2900 lumen 42 watt LED lights on my headache rack. All lights appear to show the same color (6K kelvin) - very white. All these lights were recently used to rescue a friend and his wife on their touring BMW motorcycle with a flat tire on a very remote, dark little used road in the Oregon mountains. While hooking up my trailer to dealing with the "breakdown" in a deep, dark moonless canyon were perfect. The light produced by these two sets of lights made dealing with the situation very safe and easy.I will try to post an update on these in 6 months or a year to advise durability.01/04/2016. Still have the truck, still have the lights they still work perfectly. Still saving me from backing into bad things, still making "won't dim high beam bozos" dim their high beams.

Good upgrade from the 27w lights
Upgraded from the TTX Lighting 27w to these and am very happy. There is no way these are spots - to tell you the truth, I don't believe you can get a true spot light in an LED light. The only LEDs that give me somewhat of a spot is my 52" light bar - and even that is not a true spot. These new Kawells give you light all around and some ahead. Very bright and seem well made. I've only had them on my Jeep Wrangler JK for about 2 weeks - but so far, combined with my other lights, lets me see everything on the road at night. I live in a very rural area, and deer are a problem - but these lights let me see their blinking eyes well before I am on top of them.

Custom LED Spotlight!!!
This fits in a 4" PVC pipe nicely, so I made one into a flashlight. The other im going to use on my ebike. The brightness, as best I can describe it, is take one headlight from a small car and put it on high beam. The color is very white though. This is not so much a spot beam, but mostly 3/4 flood and 1/4 spot. Thats how it seems.I am running my at 24v as anything under 20v makes it hiss. Yes, a hiss sound. There is not problem with heat if you are moving at all. When I sit them still in a room, they do get hot. But any movement at all and they are good. For the price, they are good. I havent had these too long so I can't say about a long term time.

They are ok. No real projection of light. Can't be the only source of light on your ride...
They are bright. But they throw light all over. Its more like 180 degree of light. You can't look at them from anywhere in front of the vehicle, but they don't project like a headlight. So you get a lot of people "brighting" you... since they don't project in a focused beam, you can't drive with just these. These would be better suitable as a backup light instead of a "driving" light. They are very good at reflecting off of signs.. you can see street signs from a ways away but no useable light on the road ahead of you. I call them my ditch shiners.I'm curious how these will last. I have a slim 18w version, one of them failed after a year, and both had moisture in them. They also started to peel inside, as in the chrome reflector.. so chunks of fake chrome is piling up on the bottom and you can see black. This makes the lights dimmer, if they still work..

Excellent value for the price!
I purchased these 42 Watt Kawell units to replace 27 Watt Kawell lights I installed more than a year ago. The older lights had survived a northern New York State winter, but were beginning to show signs of weathering.I installed these as auxiliary high beams on a 2010 MINI Cooper using an aftermarket relay harness linked to the high beams.Light is white, instant on, and the lamps run cool.As others have noted, these are not "spot" lamps. The light pattern is very wide and diffuse; perfect for spotting deer on the edges of the highway, but lacking the expensive optics necessary to focus an LED light source.Very happy with the results and the reliability.Excellent value for the price.

Update
Got these shipped and came really fast! Installed them and turned em on last night and super bright! They turned the whole apartment building white! Installation was easy as I was replacing old ones and reusing the old mounting hardware.Update 5 or 6 months later I only have one working the other had 4 bulbs maybe works. Also I hardly use these I don't drive with them on. So they always be like new. Have to contact Kawell to see if anything can be done. Never mind further research on their website shows a 90 day warranty. So these guys were very friendly in reaching out to me over this issue and offered to send me a replacement. Looking forward to installing it tomorrow and having my lights back working

Nice bright lights for the money.
These are really nice lights. This is my second pair. My first pair lasted two seasons. I use them on the back of my truck in the winter when plowing and salting. They take a lot of abuse from snow, ice and salt. I consider two years pretty good. They are very bright and work great for me.

Ridiculously great value!
Unbelievable value. Run these on a R1200GS BMW adventure bike. Debated buying PIAA or other brands costing hundreds of dollars more. Bought these thinking if they didn't work out it was a low risk mistake, turns out they are fantastic. Ridden side by side with much more expensive lighting systems and these are as good or MUCH better than the other brands. IN one case the casting and lens looks to be identical to the other lamps costing $450. They are not small at 4" across, but again I wanted to be visible as well as being able to see. These provide so much clean blue white light that the headlights feel useless and I am upgrading them now as well. The 4" plate of illumination also ensures i am well visible to oncoming traffic. Ordering a second set just incase one of these dies pre-50,000 hours. I don't care if they do, they already have been far better than expected. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANY OF THIS LIGHTING CO PRODUCTS. Ridiculously great value.

Made them fit 2004 Suzuki King quad , look and work great
With a certain amount of creative reworking these lamps fit my 2004 Suzuki King quad using original lamp mounts and all. Fit OEM bezel perfectly and BRIGHT. Reworking required cutting lamp tabs off the original lamps some drilling and fitting into the alum housing , might not be for everyone going in cold....That's why I gave it a 4 for install...

Not so spot spotlights
Plenty bright but at 30 degrees beam pattern not exactly spotlights. Other than that they are well made and work fine. The f you don’t need long range these are a great value

Water damage inside after 1 month
I bought one set a year ago and one light stopped working so I bough another set to replace not working light. On new set water got inside light after 1 MONTH??!!! What a waste of money and this is supposed to be sealed unit. I’m really disappointed in this product.

Work
These lights appear to be well built. So far they are working well, at least one year used as fog lights on my truck. Time will tell if they hold up.
