MacArthur Study Bible-NASB-Signature

a good study Bible,. not far away from King James Version Bible. I enjoy reading it having lot of inputs. For those die hard for KJV, this study bible is another similar translation source as KJV.

Excellent study bible with explanation about the origin of Bible, how to read the bible, there's a foreword before each book, charts, maps and detailed explanation given in the lower half of each page. Jesus' words are not in red though (already in description) which is OK.The paper quality is thin (as usual bibles are, to accommodate more pages to make it compact) but good.I enjoy using this bible as my study guide.Excellent purchase.

Best book - if we want to meditate more and looking for a detailed explanation without changing/hiding the truth.

Great study bible with amazing details and explanations. This bible is not for everyone.Many comments complain about the size and weight of this bible, however, the reasoning for this is because this bible adds full context about almost every verse. It goes into details on verses Jesus references (when talking about the laws) explains culture, and many more important things to help you study.I am a big believer of understanding the who what where when why of each verse and chapter, this bible answers the majority of questions about all the verses and books. The only other piece I enjoy to add with this bible is getting into the original language and translations.

Everything. A good addendum could have been a dictionary. But, not a train smash.MacArthur is the best extrapolation teacher going. He's commitment and dedication is tangible through the whole commentary

I'm vision impaired from an injury several years ago, so the physical copy was not really an option vs the kindle version without some serious magnification. I've read several reviews about navigation issues on the kindle version and it is somewhat cumbersome. By improvising a little, you can shorten the search time. I went to TOC hyperlinks and set my filter blue notes, or any other you want to choose, on Old Testament then about half way down to Psalms, I put another filter note. I did the same with the NT. This way you can select the book and chapter using the hyperlink along with the back button. This method really cuts down on navigation time because you have to scroll thru several pages of text even if you select the individual books. There is a lot trial and error involved in learning to navigate but in my opinion its worth it. I increased my font size and set it on enhanced negative to make it easier on my eyes. I really like this bible. I'm so glad I purchased it and for a fraction of the cost of the physical copy. I don't have to worry about reading that small print or tearing pages or the binding coming apart. Its in the cloud baby. I have to say this bible is loaded. I'm just beginning to scratch the surface. The only thing that it doesn't have is the red lettering and Lexicon aides but I can access those for free online. Also, I almost forgot, if you have a second monitor you can open another browser. Type in "read.amazon.com" and log in. After logging in, you can open the same book to help in navigating or open an entirely different book. Navigation is not as user friendly with the kindle cloud reader so it takes a little getting used to.I think John MacArthur is one of best bible expositors around. I purchased his commentary on Revelation, the red edition, and I highly recommend it. I debated on whether to give this a 4 or 5 star review. If there were hyperlinks in the footnotes it would help. But I guess you can't have every thing. Hope this helps. After using this bible for a few weeks, I have since learned that there are hyperlinks to the footnotes that I overlooked in the bottom left hand corner. When you click on "go to footnotes" it takes you to all footnotes for the chapter. I've had this bible for about a year now and I use it almost every day. It is so easy to navigate and I love all the additional insight that the footnotes give that I'm afraid of missing out on some thing if I don't click on it. For these reasons I am giving it 5 stars.

Die MacArthur-Studienbibel kam ursprünglich in der NKJV-Übersetzung heraus. Mittlerweile gibt es diese Studienbibel jedoch auch mit anderen Übersetzungen, etwa der ESV und der hier rezensierten NASB (auf Deutsch ist die Studienbibel m.W. mit dem Text der Schlachter2000 erhältlich).Ich bin mittlerweile ein großer Fan der NASB ("New American Standard Bible") die für ihre große Wortreue bekannt ist. Persönlich würde Ich sagen, dass die NASB das amerikanische Pendant zur deutschen Elberfelder Bibel darstellt. Dies bringt es notwendigerweise mit sich, dass der Text sich oftmals nicht so flüssig ließt, da der NASB-Text stets versucht die Eigenheiten des hebräischen und greichischen Textes wiederzugeben (Satzbau).John MacArthur ist ein bekannter amerikanischer Pastor und hat für seine "MacArthur Study Bible" über 20.000 erklärende Fußnoten mit sowohl theologischen, aber auch historischen und kulturgeschichtlichen Kommentaren verfasst. In den Kommentaren bzw. am Seitenende finden sich zudem oftmals Darstellungen (Stiftshütte, Salomons Tempel), aber auch Landkarten.Jedem Buch innerhalb der Bibel ist eine kurze Einführung vorangestellt, die den Titel, Autor und Verfassungszeit, aber auch die Hauptthemen und interpretative Schwierigkeiten behandelt. Die sich anschließende Übersicht zeigt die innere Gliederung eines Buches, ein sehr nützliches Feature, wie Ich finde.Die Bibel wird von mehreren kurzen Essays von John MacArthur eingeleitet, die Umfang, Abfassung und die Heilslehre der Bibel behandeln. Der NASB-Text folgt dem masoretischen (AT), sowie dem alexandrinischen (NT) Text und ist zweispaltig gesetzt. In der Mittelspalte finden sich (ähnlich der Elberfelder Bibel) die Verweisstellen, sowie Anmerkungen zu Übersetzungsvarianten oder anderen Lesarten.Obwohl die Bibel in China gedruckt wurde, ist die Qualität dem Preis doch mehr als angemessen. Auch wenn das Papier nicht das beste ist, ist doch wenigstens der Druck selbst gestochen scharf.Der Kunstledereinband in "Leathersoft" macht seinem Namen alle Ehre. Ich war überrascht, dass die Bibel ab der Einleitung zum Buch Genesis wirklich mühelos offen liegen bleibt. Einziger Mangel des Designs ist möglicherweise der Umstand, dass alle Grafiken, Landkarten innerhalb des Bibeltexts nur in schwarz-weiß gehalten sind.Immerhin finden sich am Ende der Bibel mehrere doch recht ansprechende, farbige Landkarten auf dickerem Papier, die bspw. Israel oder die Reisen des Apostels Paulus zeigen.Fazit: Ich kann diese Bibel aufgrund ihrer recht guten Verarbeitung, aber vorallem auch wegen des ausführlichen und fundierten Studienkommentars von John MacArthur jedem Bibelliebhaber empfehlen, der sich evtl. einmal an eine englischsprachige Bibelübersetzung wagen möchte.
