Easy to install
I had bought a previous gate and it was a nightmare to install. So I decided to try this one, and was thrilled it installed in minutes and was really sturdy.I used it to introduce two new kitties to the pack !

Worked as well as a gate can
We did not want to permanently attach a gate to our walls, so this was a good alternative. We had to purchase extensions for it as our opening was a bit larger, but our toddler can shake it like crazy and it doesn’t move.

Great Gate!
I looked at a bunch of gates and decided to purchase 3 of these. They are extremely easy to install. It took about five minutes to find the right amount of tension, but ever since then I’ve never had the gate fail to shut properly behind me. One hand ease of opening for adults, keeps the kids safe. The gate comes with 2 separate extension pieces to make sure you have a combination of the gate fitting the opening it claims to. Love that the gate opens both ways and can remain open in either direction.I’ve recommended this product to my friends, but here’s why I took off a star:My doorway is 36” wide. With two extensions I was disappointed that the wider extension made the gate too long. The shorter extension allowed the gates to fit, but the threaded pieces that come with this gate and make the compression possible were maxed out (also the rubber on the ends is not as grippy as another brand of gate we purchased for a larger opening). As a result the gate felt unsafe while applying pressure to it. So yes, the gate technically fits 36”, but no way was I gonna trust it to hold up to my kids/dog when just lightly leaning on it got suspect. 35” opening this is all a non issue. So I saw amazon also offers a product called the wall nanny. Increased the total cost of the gate, but with the wall nanny rubber grips this gate is a winner for 36” openings. With this addition, the gate feels great when leaning on and lightly bouncing against it with my 200 pound body.Love the gate. After seeing wall nanny’s, IGot them for the other gate as well.

Don't tighten too tight or the gate will not open
Set this up by myself in the kitchen doorway. Used the smaller extension because the larger extension was too big. Set up was pretty difficult for 4'11 me with short t-rex arms, but I feel like it would have been easy to assemble with two people. This gate is pretty sturdy when the cups are in place. My only complaint is when you tighten the device that pressures the wall on either (or both) sides too tight then the gate will not open. Leave a little less pressure so the gate can open. Overall a great gate, just be careful stepping through because it does have a complete frame and the bottom is not flush with the floor. In the photo my gate is up a little higher because I didn't realize the wall had trim that prevented me from tightening the device properly to get that stable pressure.

Sturdy
This is a great sturdy gate that allows me to let my puppy out on the upper outside deck to play. I put it at the steps leading to a lower deck which is exposed to the elements, and it has rusted along the base of the bars. Not a big deal though. For the price, I am satisfied.

So glad I got it
The gate was relatively easy to install though I wouldn't have minded an extra hand to help keep the extension in place while I was trying to secure it in the doorway. I had a "fail" w/it initially in that it slid off the door frame after multiple times through the gate; however, it seems I simply didn't sufficiently tighten it. (Though it comes w/a screw-into-the-wall adapter--especially for securing @ the top of stairs, I was reluctant to put nail holes in the door frame if I could manage it solely w/tension.) I re-tightened it & it's been great since. I am using it to keep a Beagle/Basset mix out of the kitchen &, though he's relatively substantial, he has not challenged the integrity of the gate as he stands on his hind legs & leans against it. The latch works seamlessly for me & the grandkids. The gate opens either way, is self-closing & can also be positioned to remain open, if desired. The height is perfect for unlatching w/o bending over (5'6" tall). I had 2 NON-walk-through gates initially, but found 1 walk-through was imperative. If I could do it over again, I would purchase 2 walk-throughs from the git-go. Very happy w/this purchase.

Sturdy
We bought this security gate to adhere upstairs against our staircase to prevent our little ones from getting to the stairs without us. I was able to install this pretty easily by myself. We have it adhered to the wall on one side and our metal spiral handrail on the other. I was worried that this might make it less stable, but we’ve had great luck with it so far. And our toddler will even grab the rails and shake it when he’s playing. One of the best features is the fact that it will swing close behind us as we walk and latch automatically. While I have had a few random times it won’t latch, it doesn’t happen often. This gate was a great purchase to keep our kid safe from the stairs, and I would recommend it.
