Dmc 6-Strand Embroidery Cotton 8.7yd-Medium Old Gold

I was embroidering a large wall hanging full of text so needed quite a bit of embroidery thread. It gets pricey so I was happy to see this product at such a reasonable price in bulk quantity. It arrived quickly, was well packaged and I think it is value for money. I didn't experience any problems while splitting it to embroider with, it was easy to work with, didn't knot, looked nice in the finished hanging, and generally did everything it was supposed to perfectly. I'm very happy I bought it.

The color is exactly how the photo shows; a dark gold. It is not quite gold gold, but a shade or two darker. Perfect for if you want a more sophisticated, muted gold. Not great if you want bright and vibrant.The good: the floss is nice quality and looks the same as DMC floss that I ordered directly from DMC (in other colors).The bad: the color stains fabric badly. I realized I counted my cross stitch wrong and had a line of stitches one square too high. There was a distinct line of gold where the stitches were, which I figured was normal. I tried removing the yellow with a toothbrush and laundry detergent, but it just stained the whole bottom of my cloth yellow. I then bleached the area, and there was no change. I then used tide stain remover and the massive yellow stain still persisted. I am now going to try to dye the cloth white again, hoping I don't lose my whole project.

A great price, without having to drive 35+ miles to find a store that carries it. Always works up easily. I am a klutz who carries it while traveling, working on pr9ojects while I am waiting, so I always wind it on bobbins first so that the skeins don't become tangles.

It was just the right color for my project.

Convenient to purchase this thread online. I probably could have gotten this product at a lower price elsewhere, but the gas would have cost more. You can't go wrong with DMC and the color was accurately displayed.
