Learning Bengali Alphabet for English speakers: Teach yourself Bengali (Bangla) alphabet

Wonderful!
This is exactly the kind of resource that I needed after buying a Bengali textbook that just introduced the writing system out of nowhere, with no explanation of how to write it. Not only are the instructions and illustrations very clear, but there are even activities sprinkled throughout the book to help the reader review and test their knowledge. This is an excellent resource! Thank you 😊

Fantastic resource and easy to use!
This book is thoughtfully created for new learners of Bangla. The English transliterations made it very easy for my kids to retain the knowledge. Also includes the more complicated parts of the Bangla alphabet (joint letters and modifiers). A fantastic resource for learning the foundations of Bangla language!

Solid.
Some of the example words are weird or funny but it's not a big deal. For the purpose of learning how to write the alphabet, this is a good book. It's designed for kids but I used it as an adult.

Bangladeshi Bengali
Neat book. Hard to find workbooks for learning Bengali/Bangla for Bangladesh and not India. This one looks good!

Errors in phonetics
The book has great intentions but is incorrect in its references to phonetics and words that would produce the correct sound and pronunciation of the letter.

Best absolute beginner Bangla book I've found
Exactly what I was looking for. So many other Bengali/Bangla language books labeled "for beginners" assume quite a lot of previous cultural exposure to the language or academic knowledge. This book pitches it just right --- gives you the name of the letter, the sound the letter makes (with an understanding of how British English speakers pronounce things, as opposed to Australian or American -- no point in saying something like "this letter has the sound of the 'a' in 'tomato' if you don't know what pronunciation of tomato you need!), and plenty of space to practice tracing and then free writing the letters yourself. Not too dumbed down, not too erudite, just right.
