This product really works. I was able to achieve the color highlights I always wanted without the salon price. I followed the directions carefully and kept an eye on how my hair was doing once I applied the product. My hair is colored with a brown Garnier base, I used the brush that comes with the kit, which made it so easy. Once I noticed my hair was turning lighter and it was a color I liked, I washed it off and followed through with the anti brass purple conditioner. I did not wait the suggested 35 minutes as I could see I had reached a beautiful color before 35 minutes. I then styled my hair like I normally do. I am so happy with the end result! My hair is not damaged either. I am thrilled with the overall process and end result. I highly recommend this if you are looking to highlight your hair. 💖🙌

I’ve been using Icing Swirl Balayage (BY1) for a few years now thanks to the pandemic & hair salon closing. This has been the easiest and safest option for my type hair and skill set. My highlights are not as intense/vibrant (?) as from the salon, but appear warm and more natural looking (also $70 cheaper). It’s pretty straight forward to use, with easy to follow instructions. Everything you need is in the box so there’s no extra expense. Think of this as hand painting your hair. You use the comb-like-brush to apply the mixture directly to the parts of hair YOU want highlighted. There is no cap, foil or crochet hook/needle to mess with. All that is needed is an old shirt or towel as protection against any drips (not mandatory but accidents do happen), a couple of hairclips (optional), a mirror, a timer (I use the one on my phone) and the kit. You can apply it sitting down or standing up, it’s all up to you. I start with a few strokes to frame my face, then apply randomly to the rest of my hair style (especially the back of my head), but it seems to look & works well whether my hair is down or pinned up. -Don’t overthink it AND don’t worry about using the whole bottle. I have short hair so an application for me is about half a bottle with the balance discarded. If this is your first time using color, this brand or product, do the skin allergy test first, just to be on the safe side. The Nutrisse Balayage is a healthier, safer technique to use since it is ‘hair color’ vs “bleach” that strips color, but it also depends on the condition of your hair and the level of lightness you want. This has been perfect for me, my hair and my budget. A hidden benefit is not needing to touch-up new hair growth as frequently as you would with regular color or ‘highlights’ due to the blended effect. Overall, this has been my best decision with regards to my own diy balayage treatment. It works with my schedule, takes less time to do, is less damaging on my hair, and it’s definitely a low cost option that gives me salon worthy results. *I do recommend an extra moisturizer or deep conditioner for between treatments. Otherwise, it’s a great DIY home option. P.S. Product line is also vegan and cruelty free.

Easy to follow instructions, liked my results. Had my hair professionally colored and it was way too dark. I waited 2 weeks after the initial color to use this. I did a stand test on my hair just to see how it would turn out and let that process for 20 minutes. I liked the copper/caramel color and proceeded with the whole process. I used the included brush to first coat my ends, moved to the middle next then added some face framing and brushed in chunks from my part at the top down. When it was processing I was like omg hope this turns out ok! I left it on for 15 minutes total. I love the new color contrast and that my hair isn't just dark brown. I looked too washed out with such dark hair , now my hair complements my skin tone more. Highly recommend and I would use again.

The only reason this got 4 stars rather than 5 is the application process and tools. Take my advice, use foil and you will have more control over the amount of product applied. That was my only issue. The little brush that comes in the kit leaves very inconsistent streaks so you will have higher concentrations of formula on some areas and less on others. It can lead to a splotchy looking result. If you use foil and pull out strands that you want highlighted, you will get a better, stronger looking result. As far as the lifting power of this hair color, it worked great on my daughter’s medium brown hair. She has a tendency to develop natural highlights over the summer so I had high hopes for this formula. It left her with soft, caramel colored highlights and she loves them. Lastly, this is a very drying color. I expected it would be because it is essentially a bleaching kit so just be aware of that and have a good leave in conditioner handy.

This is the best and simplest Balyage kit out there. I began using this before covid in between the salon and save a lot of money. This is a general kit, think hair painting, small, even tiny thin pieces of hair for a more natural look. Don’t do it straight across the part, gently staggering it will grow out better. Good luck!

Does it’s purpose in bleaching but does leave brown hair orange.🍊 did not ruin my hair.

WARNING: THIS PRODUCT EXPLODES. Decided to use some of ur fine product to better my quarantine experience. My sister and I used the product as instructed. First of all, it didn’t work at all. Then I got bleach on my troll doll. FINALLY- the bleach took it upon itself to VIOLENTLY PROJECTILE VOMIT all over the walls of my bathroom after sealing the plastic bottle off (see pics). My sister and I were overcome with noxious fumes the next morning. At this point I asked if we should clean it with Clorox or Lysol but was briskly informed that mixing with cleaning supplies could create even more toxic gas. Now I have a nose that refuses to work, a demonized troll doll, and tainted bathroom walls painted by satan himself. Thanks a lot nutrisse
