Real sugar, not corn syrup. Sweet instead of hot. Compliments the ribs. No mustard. I’m allergic.

When I was in high school, I lived in Kansas City. I went to KC Masterpiece's restaurant and was blown away. This sauce is what I still consider the best in a bottle, 30 years later and as a chef - not too sweet, great depth of flavor, and a little bit of spice. Do yourself a favor and try it. If I'm not doing a TX-style dry rub, this is my go-to.

Nostalgic tribute to the "true" KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce (back to the 1990's, KC was originally produced by THE KC Masterpiece steakhouse, and sold via local distribution), this "Classic" sauce is made with real sugar (ever look at the label of many modern products, and seen the ingredient, "High Fructose Corn Syrup"? Coincidentally, it's not made from Corn nor Fructose- think about it). This sauce has true sugar and spice. In the traditional style, this sweet zesty BBQ sauce pairs with beef, pork, chicken, and would probably almost make tofu edible (sorry... a 'discouraging word'). The signature sweet tang of KC BBQ differs from other regions, making for some of the best BBQ ribs in the country. Cost? I'm spoiled. In the 1990's, I used to buy the original sauce in 1 GALLON GLASS JUGS, at a great price. No, I didn't drink it, I just didn't want to run out. This special edition, using real sugar (which is the only "true" KC Masterpiece flavor) is a bit pricey (sorry guys) due to their not using the "industrial" / cost down sweetner. Still, I encourage everyone who isn't sugar intolerant to taste the best KC has (had) to offer, while it's still available.

Why isn't it in my local Minneapolis stores like it use to be its my favorite.

Liked it better when it was in glass bottles, I really dislike plastic
