LamiglasKokanee & Trout Trolling Fishing Rod

Since switching to Lamiglas I have rarely lost a kokanee. These rods really help with the give and the flexibility. I own 3 and just love them. Good power in the grip area and great action towards the end.

This rod has obsoleted my other deep downrigger fresh water trolling rods for Kokanee salmon and trout under 6 lbs, most rainbows and cutthoats being in that range. Not for lake trout or very large browns. I lose very few fish on this rod. This is because it has a deep bending ability on the downrigger set mode and then snaps back straight when a strike occurs. But it does not rip the lure out of the fish's mouth, it justs takes up the line slack. It is a "slow rod" as opposed to a stiff high modulus sensitive rod. I no longer need to use rubber snubbers for the soft mouthed Kokanee as this rod provides the correct shock relief for hard strikes. The 7 1/2 foot length is perfect, and hard to find. The build quality is very good compared to the cheapies that fall apart at the handle or the rod guides in a year or two. The rod's red color is easy to see out of the corner of my eye while trolling. I paired mine up with a Tica kokanee baitcasting type reel which makes it a snap to reset on the downrigger. Spinning rods and reels are much harder to set up for downriggers, at least twice the time. I always marvel at how simple things get when you have the right tool for the task.

Rod was delivered in a nice sturdy tube so no chance of damage during shipping. Thank You. The rod is very nice the length is perfect for me on a smaller boat trolling for kokanee. The tip is fairly soft so it gives nicely on bites as well as nibbles. Easy to see what is going on and imo that give allows the fish to be hooked up better. I loose way less fish on this rod than my other stiffer rods. This is now my fav rod. It might be a bit soft if your going to do any Jigging but for trolling it rocks

Love the light play and flexibly when the fish is on but have to be careful. First year out with it and broke the tip

This rod is perfect for kokanee. I have read several reviews saying that the rods break easily, but I gonna attribute that to adrenaline! This rod has been on the downriggers and used longlining with dropper weights, no issues at all. You feel every movement of the fish, and rarely loose them due to the "soft mouth" issue they are sometimes known for. I just added another identical rod to my arsenal as a spare because I like it that much! Add a decent linecounter reel and you're in business! You can't go wrong.

I use these rods for down riggers fishing for kokanee an trout, I also use them with side planers. They will handle a 7.5 pound Rainbow

Nice rod, but it broke first time using it on the first fish. Contacted lamiglas 2 weeks ago. They said they received my claim, haven’t heard anything since. Most likely won’t be buying another one or anything lamiglas ever again.
