Excellent quiet garage door opener packed with tons of features and safety measures.
Excellent garage door opener. Plan some time to install this, don't think this will be a quick 30 minute and done project...more like a 45 minute project if you know what you are doing and maybe an hour to an hour and a half if you have never installed one before. I used this to replace my old Genie garage door opener so I had a few extra steps taking the old one down. However, that did make it a bit easier to install this new one because all of the hardware was in the correct place and I just had to switch out the old with the new. Didn't have to measure anything, but did have to adjust the height and adjust the brackets that hold it to the ceiling. Quick tip: you can use tin snips to easily cut the provided bracket if you need to. As for specs: this is a belt driven opener, which makes it super quiet. Honestly my last one was a screw drive and lasted over 30 years and I replaced it because the light sockets stopped working and would stay constantly on, not to mention it was really loud.Just shows you how good these garage door openers are so I'm hoping this one lasts just as long. Anyway, the hardest part was attaching the sensors and getting them lined up correctly, once that was done everything went together. Now for my perticular install, the original house owner did some janky stuff with the wiring, which was routed through the garage drywall, and I had wires that were mismatched. Just a tip, if you are replacing a door opener and have a similar situation, they give you enough wiring to wire everything up so I would just use the new wires. Having to figure out the wire colors for the sensors and the wall mounted clicker added about 40 minutes to my install (yes it was that much of a mess) and I ended up just rewiring anyway. Features: the Aladdin phone app works pretty well. Easy to install and easy to set up and allows us to open the door when away and it tells us if the door is open or closed. It also has a feature for an Amazon delivery, but I would never trust just letting anyone into my garage. May be beneficial if you have something very valuable delivered, but I wouldn't trust anything delivered by UPS knowing it would be hit or miss that they would throw a heavy box on top of my car or something. The garage door openers (visor clickers)- it comes with 2 and those are easy to set up as well. When installing, you set the open height and the closed pressure by adjusting the settings, which again is pretty easy to do. It says it is quiet, and it means it- SUPER QUIET. Now the only downside I can state at this time is the speed. It lacks speed adjustment and it is rather slow opening. However I am getting use to it and for the quiet operation, this is a very good tradeoff. OVERALL: I highly recommend this door opener.

Great features, Great upgrade at a reasonable price.
UPDATE 7 months later. Really love this SMART WIFI garage door opener. The wife made me replace her door opener immediately so I now have two to review. Never a issue in 7 months. The app works great to notify you and open/close the doors remotely. Not once has the door not closed correctly on the first try. Smooth and quiet opener. My old Genie screw drive opener went out after 16 years of use. Any electronic that you can get 15 years of problem free use out of is a solid product. I have only had this new opener installed for a week so far. Lots of options with openers nowadays. 1) Battery backup - this model doesn't have it and I didn't feel that it served much purpose for me. I am capable of pulling the handle to release the door if there is a power outage which is short term and rare in Illinois. An extra $100 plus the maintenance involved in the battery made me rule out that option. 2) Wifi - To sum it up if you are on the fence. Buy this model which includes the SMART Connect functions. I have a ton of connected devices in my house. I asked myself do I really care about wifi on a garage door opener. I didn't think I would. I have a WYZE cam in my garage to tell me if I accidently left the garage door open which happens often when you are 3 blocks away from the house. Did I need a connected opener also? I have found out the answer is yes. Not only can you open and close the door through the FREE and awesome Aladdin app it will tell you whether the door is currently closed or open. The app is super simple to use - you can get notifications each time the door is opened or closed - or not if you choose. It also has an easy way to add Siri capability to open and close. Now I can pull on my block and just say Hey Siri open the Truck Garage. I don't even need to carry a door opener now. I can open and close the door from anywhere in the world now. I can now create a rule in the app to close the door if I left it open after 1045pm. Pretty cool. 3) Install. Took about 1 hour to disassemble my old Genie. The new one took me about 3 hours to install. I do a lot of home projects so I am quite handy. The instructions could be slightly better. I read the paper instructions, I can't comment on the video instructions. Overall install is easy. I wish they would clarify the turnbuckle belt attachment step. Also they never detailed how to lock in the door for the first time and properly run. After the instructions were finished I thought I was ready to run the door. However it only lift the door 3 feet. I messed around for 30 minutes trying different things thinking it was a hardware problem. The issue however lies in the 2nd set of instructions which is the programming portion. I figured the remotes come preprogrammed I don't have to read those instructions since I dont have Homelink buttons inside my F150. What they should clarify on the first set of instructions is the programming instructions includes the LIFT and CLOSE "learning". You have to press certain buttons so the opener learns where to stop to open and close the door. I was used to the old opener that had a small switch on the track that physically was moved to tell the opener where to open and close. Long story short. Read the Programming guide. This should be included on the first set of instructions in my opinion. 4) Quietness. While I didn't want anything super quiet this opener is much smoother and quieter. My second garage door with another 16 year old genie now sounds like a train rolling in. I can now barely hear the garage door through the inside house door. The belt drive is certainly recommended over the screw drive. 5) Downsides. I should have bought this much sooner. Well worth $209. Withing one day the wife said I now have to buy her side of the garage a new one also. Can I consider that a downside? The second install will likely be super quick. I bet I can have the old one down in 30 minutes and the new one up in under 1 hour. So far no downsides, buy one if you are in the market.

Super Quiet, Good Product - Trouble with Vehicle Syncing
Super quiet, good product. I have installed two of these openers to replace old, noisy screw-drive openers. The instructions are decent and installation relatively easy. Two shortcomings are the difficulty in syncing to my Honda vehicles and the small gauge wire included for the safety sensors. Instructions are not accurate for syncing with your vehicle, so expect a lot of trial and error, long searches online, and repeated referrals to the vehicle manuals. The older Honda Odyssey was easier than the newer Honda Accord, but both required many attempts. The small gauge wire, perhaps 30 AWG, is super annoying and problematic. Due to the extremely small gauge, it is difficult to attach to the remote sensor screw terminals and is prone to shaking lose from things placed on the floor near the door, such as kids bicycles and garden tools. I have also had the small gauge wire vibrate loose several months later from the motor unit press terminal, which required trying to diagnose the issue and reconnecting both ends at the door and motor. I suggest buying some larger gauge wire for these runs.

Super quiet and packed with features
Got two of these for a two-car garage and am super happy. They work great; easy to install and adjust; super quiet. Programming my vehicles was tricky but I eventually got them both working to open all my garage doors with the three remote buttons in each. Web app is nice; let's me open/close from anywhere (not like I do that a lot) and also notifies my when a door opens or closes. Would buy again... in fact, I did!

Fantastic!
Unbelievably quiet operation and fantastic “smart” capability without hidden fees! 1- smart phone capability: this was a key factor in my choice. As a motorcyclist I enjoy not having to hassle with getting off my bike to use the keypad or remembering the remote or digging it out. Additionally, the temporary access can be granted so if you would like to allow someone access without sharing/changing your keypad code in the future this resolved the concern! Another security this feature provides is the ability to receive alerts on the phone whenever the door is opened or closed regardless of the source used. 2- keypad: it works like any other keypad, you can program other Genie garage doors to the 1 keypad. (It is battery operated, so it isn’t necessary to run electricity.) 3- Alexa: easy setup & if you’re concerned about security, a passcode is required to open the door using Alexa (not to close.) 4- installation: my fiancé installed the opener with little difficulty. Complete installation is best performed with 2 people. 5- programming: don’t throw away the instructions! They’re easy to follow but you’ll need them to set everything up, particularly for the serial number needed to install the app. You will need WiFi to take advantage of the smartphone & Alexa features. My garage is detached & WiFi coverage is very poor at that distance from the house but I’ve not experienced any difficulty with operation. Operation is a little slower using the smart technology compared to the remote/keypad/wired controls but this is negligible. **Do note that granting “full access” does not provide that user the ability to provide or modify access to additional users. Only master” account holder can administrate accesses. Full access will give the user the ability to revive notifications about the garage door status.

GREAT GARAGE DOOR OPENER..
Great garage door opener.. I'm 74 years old. I installed this unit myself. The instructions are clear.. It's much more quiet than the old CHAIN DRIVE I had before.. Easy to set up. Easy to adjust.

Old design was much better
I bought this model instead of the older one, and I was very disappointed. When I started connecting the wires to the four terminals on the motor, two of the small plastic clips that are supposed to open so the wires can be inserted broke very easily. I don't understand why the engineers or designers changed the wiring connection. The previous design used screws, allowing you to wrap the wire around the terminal and tighten it securely. That design was much more reliable and made it easy to disconnect and reconnect the wires if needed. With this new design, the plastic clips are fragile and break too easily. I ended up having to call an electrician to fix the problem. Another issue is that the track sections connect together without supporting screws. When I open and close the garage door, I can see the belt track bending downward, which does not inspire confidence in the product's durability. I do not recommend this new technology, despite what GENIE claims. The older design was much better and more dependable.

Easy to install even if you are only reasonably handy.
Straight forward instruction and the video helped. I replaced an old opener with the Gennie and it works very well and is way more quiet. 2 remotes and the key pad are very handy. About 8 hours in total to install.

great unit
It was easy to install, but saying that i was just replacing it for an older garage door open, so most of the brackets on the garage door and the ceiling were already there. Setting up was easy and the noise level is nice and quiet.

Quiet and easy instructions
This was a great purchase for replacing my old unit. It is so quiet!!! Cant believe it compared to my 30 year old Lift master. The step by step tutorial downloaded to my phone was a pleasant surprise!!. Kudos's to whom ever thought up that! No more going back and forth to the instruction's (which were excellent I might add to. I'm a Do It Your Selfer and got it done. It took me triple the time as the instructions said. (2 hours, 2 people. It was 9 hours 1 person for me. But I broke it up in two days. Plus I had to re-engineer the hangers in my garage as it did not quite work with what I had. This units overall length is 1'-0" shorter than my old one. I had to reposition the supports which were included in the box (Thank You Genie!!). Over all so far I'm really happy. EXCEPT!. I'm having trouble connecting to my Router in the garage. I haven't figured it out yet. I might need an extender?.
