Romeo Must Die

Found this movie because of the Pi'erre Bourne song of the same name. The action is very campy but i like that, and I like how the plot is only loosely based on the Shakespeare play instead of copying every plot point. Best of all, Romeo doesnt die :)

A great movie. Nothing fancy bout the port. No complaints

This movie rental was for entertainment purposes and fulfilled that requirement. Its not a fantastic movie, but a good oldie. Some scenes are clearly unrealistic, but again was entertaining.

I probably should have just bought it on disc, but I definitely enjoyed watching it again.

Romeo Must Die looks pretty sharp in HD. Good blacks, colors, lighting, and good sharpness and texture. It's always been a pretty good looking DVD so I expected no less from the Blu Ray. It's a nice effort for an under-rated catalogue title that doesn't even have an image on here (what's up with that?) The audio is top notch for a hip-op oriented track with good surrounds for the action and fight scenes. I love the end fight with the fire all around them. Great stuff! Extras are the same as the DVD so nothing new, except the "Try Again" music video looks a little sharper upscaled.Not bad for a DVD upgrade. Like I said, the DVD looked really good, but I needed me some HD Jet Li to get me jazzed up for Expendables 2 this weekend so this Blu-Ray did not dissapoint!

I'm not sure why I bought this film but here goes with my review. Jet Li is kinda hot and I have bought his films before in the past (Kiss of the Dragon was particularly good). As the lead female making her debut here Aaliyah is actually shockingly good. Russell Wong is also extremely easy on the eye. The action is sweet. There's at least one nice explosion here. Anthony Anderson irritates as always but he's not enough to ruin a perfectly adequate actioner. Dependable Delroy Lindo is always fun to watch. And Isaiah Washington is not bad. Even DMX isn't bad. But this film was always gonna live and die on its central couple and in that respect the film does deliver even if the chemistry isn't as hot as it could have been. There's some loud gun play to enjoy here too. I do like the song Try Again which features at the end. However, and it's a small thing, the cover is not the same as advertised. And there's no music videos.

Myself watch good

This movie had been strongly recommended by many people and as I watch a lot of Jet Li movies I went and got it as soon as I noticed it go on sale. I wasn't disappointed. As an overall movie, it ranks a few notches above Kiss of the Dragon and One. The action sequences are exciting as usual - lower on the "superhumanness" scale than some of Jet Li's Hong Kong movies but with a few scenes of hyper dexterity ... although it's all in a good way: the fight scenes throughout are interesting and a pleasure to watch. One unique scene worth seeing is Jet Li trying his hand at American Football.The Acting is fairly good with Jet Li turning in a low-vocabulary/low-word-count performance and doing it quite well, while Aaliyah is not only convincing but very likable. The performance of the supporting cast likewise is also quite good.The story in short is about Han, a convict in Hong Kong (I think) who breaks out of prison to investigate the death of his brother in America. As he follows the movements of his brother before his death he finds himself in a city contended for between two criminal organisation one of which is a chinese mafia cell controlled by his father. His investigation leads him to meet and befriend the daughter of the boss of the rival african-american gang in the city, and soon he finds himself having more to investigate than just the death of his brother.Not really a thought provoking movie, and the story is a bit predictable but it is a movie with great action sequences, good style and likable performances. Definitely worth watching and has definite rewatchability value. Overall an enjoyable experience and, if you're a Jet Li fan, a must have.

Very good movie and non stop action

I absolutely love this film and soundtrack. Jet Li is very funny. The world lost an amazingly talented actress and singer.
