Super easy install with SmartLife and Alexa
My previous SMY 100W Transformer burned out after about 18 months of use likely caused by a short where water got into the underground wiring. So I did an extensive rewire of my eight 5W LED Lights so that all connections are above ground. This transformer is compact, light, efficient, easy to install, with a simple design and at a very reasonable price, especially since it has Wi-Fi & Alexa capability. It was one of the easiest devices to connect to Wi-Fi that I've encountered. I have a smart home with around 85 devices connected to my router, so I understand problem devices. Many manufacturers including Dewenwils have their own apps that they want you to install, but this device works perfect installed using SmartLife, which even brought in the exact model icon into the app. So I have no doubt that the Dewenwils app is based on the SmartLife app that is mentioned in the instructions. Connect it up, put it on your wall, open SmartLife, press and hold the power button on the device, and then when its in pairing mode click Add in SmartLife. After 30 to 50 seconds it connected and worked! Transformers usually last a long time, so with my new wiring, I'm hoping this one lasts years.

Works great. I'd buy it again.
This is a good product. It was easy to install and set up. I've got mine set to come on at dusk and go off at dawn. It's on my front porch and there's a light on the porch. One night I turned on the light to go out and turn off the water and the yard lights went out. I didn't notice until I step back inside and turned off the porch light. It was very dark in the yard. The yard lights came right back on in a minute or so. It's working just as it's supposed to but in the past, I always bought transformers with timers. I had not considered that the light sensor would be sensitive to a porch light. Just be careful where you install it. This is not a negative review of the product in any way. It works well and I'm very happy with it.

Nice LV transformer at a great price
This transformer was very easy to install and has all the power and features I need - and few I don't. Sixty watts is less capacity than most available transformers, but it is more than plenty for me. I don't ever expect to hook up more than a dozen lights. I use the 'on at dusk, off at dawn' setting which I find most convenient. It has an 'on at dusk, off after 2-8 hours' setting, which I suppose would save some money. But, really, it'd be only a buck and a half per month. The unit also has an overload indicator, which immediately led me to discover a shorted light. That was helpful. I can't speak to its longevity. If it breaks I'll update this review.

Great WIFI box for low-voltage lighting systems!
So far so good. Make sure you know how to change your router to 2.4ghz if you have a 5ghz router wifi signal. You can get into your router by using your IP address and password on your router. I tried to connect the transformer on 5ghz and it would not let me, but once I switched to 2.4ghz the transformer connected. You then can switch your router back to 5ghz and the until will be just fine, you just have to connect through a 2.4ghz signal. A lot of modern routers have both 2.4 and 5ghz signals as well, so keep that in mind as you might be able to connect without getting into your router settings. Once it was hooked up, the app install was easy and the programing was super simple using the app. I used the timed on/timed off setting and everything is working just perfect. There are a ton of options on when you want the power to turn on and off, such as a timer, random, sunset, sunrise, etc. I have one box that is on the outside of my house pretty far away from my router and it picked up my wifi without issue. For the price and for use with only a few of low voltage outdoor lights, this thing is just what I was looking for. All the others on the market were for 100w, 200w, 300w worth of lights, but I only have about 25 watts of lighting and it handles that just fine. Hopefully these boxes can handle a few summers in the Arizona heat.

Excellent Value with Smart Features
Great transformer for 12V DC deck lighting. Setup was quick and straightforward, and the Wi-Fi feature is a big plus. I was able to connect it to Alexa in minutes, and it’s been working flawlessly since. Excellent value for the price.

Very nice product.
Had a transformer which I used in conjunction with a smart plug. Worked great but struggled to fit both the smart plug and the transformer plug under my waterproof cover. Then my transformer went out. I got a new one….. and after a few months it failed again. None of the heavy duty models would fit when used with the smart plug - too bulky. I finally gave up and bought another Transformer that would last, but I couldn’t control with my app. First world problems! This is perfect. No need to use a smart plug * I really hope it is as durable as it is functional. Fingers crossed!

EASY to program on your PHONE!
These exceeded my expectations and I bought two more. I like landscape lighting and the cheap photocell / timer transformers I have been using were not cutting it. I also realized my old ones were only 40W capacity which I was nearing, even using LEDs, so I started looking for 60W programmable transformers. I found these, and decided to give one a try since the idea of setting up the controls on my phone sounded great. The transformer itself has an "On Button" and a sensor. That's it. The app allows you to find and link to a powered up transformer, name it, and then set up a list of commands, based on the day of the week, the time, as well as the astronomical parameters with sunset and sunrise determined by location. Once connected to a local Wifi network, you can program the transformer remotely. I can also see if power is out online. There are "scenes" that can be created as well as Alexa and Google integration. I have not used any of these other app features yet. My setup comes on at Sunset and off at 11:00 pm. I set up a morning time, coming on at 6:00 am and off at sunrise. One quirk of the app is that the astronomical switches are on a different menu from the time switches, but it works. Altogether I am very happy.

Very pleased with this product. Used it for a low voltage light project on the steps to my hot tub. Easy to install, features work great and remote has tons of range. I’m in a northern climate and no issues with this products functionality in very cold weather. Very pleased.

I recently purchased the 60W Outdoor Low Voltage Transformer with Timer and Photocell Light Sensor and have been thoroughly impressed. This transformer has significantly enhanced the functionality and convenience of my outdoor lighting setup. The built-in timer and photocell sensor are particularly useful features. The timer allows me to schedule the lights to turn on and off automatically, ensuring optimal energy efficiency. The photocell sensor provides additional convenience by automatically activating the lights at dusk and turning them off at dawn. The transformer is well-constructed and appears to be highly durable. It has been exposed to various weather conditions, including rain and snow, and has performed flawlessly.

At first I couldn't get this to work. After looking at it further and doing some research, I realized that it was only good for up to 60 watts of lighting. I have 7 pathway lights, each had an 11 watt incandescent bulb. My electrician had told me that incandescent bulbs were better than LED for my pathway lighting because the heat from the bulbs would help with condensation. I could only get this transformer to turn on if I had 3 bulbs (33 watts total) plugged in. As soon as I plugged in a 4th bulb (44 watts), it would not turn on. So, I switched to 2 watt LED bulbs and BINGO the transformer works and all 7 pathway lights light up. I have this connected to my Alexa app, and have it scheduled for sunset to sunrise along with my other outdoor lighting. No more going out every couple of weeks and adjusting my old manual timer. The size is also nice. It is fairly compact so doesn't stand out in my garden.
