First time ever i tried, so good! Dont not cook. Can mix with cool soup to eat. Soak in water for at least 12 hours before eat it, one little ball can fill up to a bowl. Once a day is good amount, dont overeat it.

When preparing this item, it is like watching a magic show. However it needs to be prepared properly. This item needs to be soaked in the water for at least ten hours. I usually soak it before going to bed along with peach gum in a separate container. Just a little is enough as it will be softened and expanded to fill the container. Make sure you use a large container and add enough water in it. Some big chunks might still be slightly hard in the center, but it will be softened after proper cooking. Before cooking, you need to pick out dirts and other impurities first. My rice cooker also functions as a steamer, so I just add enough water along with peach gum and red dates and steam for about forty minutes. When it is done cooking, add some rock candies according to your taste and enjoy.

This is the first time I bought this product. When I open the bag, there is a strong acid smell. However, after I soak a piece in water, that smell goes away. I soaked for about 8 hours and steamed for 40 minutes. Itself has no flavor and I add crystal sugar and taste good.

Similar function as bird nest but way cheaper. Usually soak the night before and then cook it in desserts or soups. Good vegetarian options as well.

I don’t know why this product smells super bad and pungent! As soon as I opened the package, it had a pungent taste, and after soaking it overnight, it still had a strong sour taste after cooking. The same product of other brands do not have such an exaggerated pungent smell. I think this product is not be natural, but artificially made! Please be careful if you wanna buy.
