Great quality and the dogs love it
Great for big dogs, good on their digestion. It helped our Cane Corso digestion issues and helped her put on weight because she was too skinny for her size. So its great for the skinny active pups that need to put on some weight. Even the finicky older dog will eat it without soft food on top. Its a little pricey but worth it. Great quality

The third ingredient is sweet potato. Sweet potatoes are a gluten-free source of ...
The first ingredient in this dog food is buffalo. Although it is a quality item, raw buffalo contains about 80% water. After cooking, most of that moisture is lost, reducing the meat content to just a fraction of its original weight. After processing, this item would probably account for a smaller part of the total content of the finished product. The second ingredient is lamb meal. Lamb meal is considered a meat concentrate and contains nearly 300% more protein than fresh lamb. The third ingredient is sweet potato. Sweet potatoes are a gluten-free source of complex carbohydrates in a dog food. They are naturally rich in dietary fiber and beta carotene. The fourth ingredient is egg product, an unspecified (wet or dry?) form of shell-free eggs. Quality can vary significantly. Lower grade egg product can even come from commercial hatcheries — from eggs that have failed to hatch. In any case, eggs are easy to digest and have an exceptionally high biological value. The fifth ingredient is pea protein, what remains of a pea after removing the starchy part of the vegetable. Even though it contains over 80% protein, this ingredient would be expected to have a lower biological value than meat. And less costly plant-based products like this can notably boost the total protein reported on the label — a factor that must be considered when judging the meat content of this dog food. The sixth ingredient includes peas. Peas are a quality source of carbohydrates. And like all legumes, they’re rich in natural fiber. However, peas contain about 25% protein, a factor that must be considered when judging the meat content of this dog food. The seventh ingredient is potato. Potatoes can be considered a gluten-free source of digestible carbohydrates. Yet with the exception of perhaps their caloric content, potatoes are of only modest nutritional value to a dog. The eighth ingredient is canola oil. Unfortunately, canola can be a controversial item. That’s because it can sometimes (but not always) be derived from genetically modified rapeseed. Yet others cite the fact canola oil can be a significant source of essential omega-3 fatty acids. In any case, plant-based oils like canola are less biologically available to a dog than fish oil as a source of quality omega-3 fats. The ninth ingredient is tomato pomace. Tomato pomace is a controversial ingredient, a by-product remaining after processing tomatoes into juice, soup and ketchup. Many praise tomato pomace for its high fiber and nutrient content, while others scorn it as an inexpensive pet food filler. Just the same, there’s probably not enough tomato pomace here to make much of a difference. From here, the list goes on to include a number of other items. But to be realistic, ingredients located this far down the list (other than nutritional supplements) are not likely to affect the overall rating of this product. With four notable exceptions… First, flaxseed is one of the best plant sources of healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Provided they’ve first been ground into a meal, flax seeds are also rich in soluble fiber. However, flaxseed contains about 19% protein, a factor that must be considered when judging the actual meat content of this dog food. Next, salmon oil is naturally rich in the prized EPA and DHA type of omega-3 fatty acids. These two high quality fats boast the highest bio-availability to dogs and humans. Depending on its level of freshness and purity, salmon oil should be considered a commendable addition. In addition, chicory root is rich in inulin, a starch-like compound made up of repeating units of carbohydrates and found in certain roots and tubers. Not only is inulin a natural source of soluble dietary fiber, it’s also a prebiotic used to promote the growth of healthy bacteria in a dog’s digestive tract. And lastly, this food contains chelated minerals, minerals that have been chemically attached to protein. This makes them easier to absorb. Chelated minerals are usually found in better dog foods.

Grain Free Perfect for Bostons and Frenchies
We have Bostons. Have been using this for years, then switched to Wag (Amazon brand). They ate the Wag, but excrement was always super soft to near runny. Switched to Purina Pro, same thing. Finally came back to this brand and our Bostons have not had any stomach issues. We always use grain free, even the French we fostered felt better, skin was better and stopped his runny stools.

My dog loves it
My dog loves this food, he has a slightly sensitive tummy and this is the only food that he doesn't get a bad reaction to the grain free version anyway.

Highly nutritious at a crazy-good price!
The downside of this dog food? I have literally never found it in any pet store I have been to, but if I did, I'm sure it would be much more expensive than on here. Also, I would take of .5 of a star because this brand only has one size of kibble, which is the only bad thing I have to say about it. That said, the kibbles are mid-sized and all three of the dachshunds can handle them with no problem, although the size seems to make them less appealing. But if you have a very small dog or one that does not like to chew, this may be a bit of a problem. I like to use a mix of dog foods, so I scour every dog food nutrition rating site that I can find before I make a choice. (This may be how you found it, too.) This dog food is at the highest tier of every list I have seen. When you compare the price of this to foods with similar levels of quality, the difference is INSANE. When you open the bag, it has the smell of a high-quality dog food. You can also feel the quality of the pieces of food in your hand. They are not overly dry, but do not make you feel the need to wash a film of smelly fat off of your hands like poor quality brands leave. This food is a great value. I feel good giving this to my dogs, and my wallet isn't crying after I buy it. If I had a large dog that ate a lot, I would pick this food because it is inexpensive enough that I could afford to give my dog a quality dry diet. The taste also seems to be rather enjoyable, although my doggies seem to prefer kibble that is a bit smaller when they have the option. For my dog recovering from surgery, I use a bit of wet food in a mix of this and Wellness Complete Health Small Breed and she inhales it. It seems to mix very well with moist foods, absorbing enough to take on some flavor without turning into a mushy mess.

Relief from allergy/itching
My dog has been treated for allergy symptoms/itching for years. It got so uncomfortable for her that I did some research and decided to feed her something that was based on wild game and not the usual chicken or beef products. She didn't take to it immediately but a mix of this and her old food allowed me to eventually switch to just this. There's been a notable difference in her itching to the point that it's almost non existent. It's also less expensive than the high quality stuff I was feeding her. Find out if it's a good fit first then add it to your "auto shipments".

Delicious and no flatulence
Excellent dry dog food. My cairn terrier will eat this kibble anytime anywhere. We've tried many other brands without success. Another great result is that she is flatulent free! Hurray. She digests this kibble well. The size of the kibble is perfect for her. Whole heartedly recommend this product.
