Aqua FreshWF294 Replacement for Samsung DA29-00020B 3-Pack

Back in September 2019, we purchased a 3-pack of these Aqua Fresh WF294 Refrigerator Water Filter Replacement Cartridges when we installed the last of the previous 3-pack of these exact same filters. We didn't like not having a ready replacement on hand just in case nor did we want to pay the higher unit price to buy them individually as needed them. So, we ordered another 3-pack. We won't make that same mistake ever again. All three of that first 3-pack worked just fine and were a great value at a fraction of the price Samsung wants to buy direct from them. But, now that it has come time to change filters again, and we are now long past the return window and also just days past the tech support eligibility window, we are learning that all 3 of the 3-pack most recently purchased back last December are defective. A close comparison with the old filter that needs to be changed out reveals that there is a manufacturing error common to all 3 of the current 3-pack (which all bear the same lot number) that prevent them from properly aligning, sealing, and locking into position. All 3 filters are worthless and no longer eligible for return or tech support. We first tried to contact whoever makes these Aqua Fresh filters to see if they could make this right before we came here to Amazon to post this review. Google Search cannot find an Aqua Fresh site or what company makes them. So, here we are to warn the rest of you that you get what you pay for. With this worthless 3-pack skewing the average, the savings of buying these compared to buying from Samsung is no longer such a great bargain. The factory Samsung cartridges are 3 times the price of the Aqua Fresh. So, we are still money ahead. But, If we buy another 3-pack, and they also prove to be of defective manufacture, we are at break even and would be just as well off if we had bought direct from Samsung. So, if you do buy one of these 3-packs, try out all 3 up front and make sure they seal and lock BEFORE the return date passes or you will be out the money like we are.

Filters are cost effective and work great. Very simple to install.

Good deal for the price.

The water filter was fine, I installed one three weeks ago and no leaks. I was skeptics of water filter, because it didn't look like the ones that I've used since 2011. (Do not be concerned that the lock marks are off).

Price was reasonable.Appears to be doing what I needed.
