Lifegard Aquatics Little Time or Temp

I just bought a second one of these because I liked the first one. Unfortunately I found a wide variation in the temperature readouts. I tested them against a kitchen instant read thermometer. All three displayed different temperatures. Sometimes several degrees off. So if you buy one, check it against other thermometers.Shortly after writing the above paragraph the first Little T &T died. The second one has performed sporadically, often changing the temperature being displayed every time you push the light button. Sometimes it does not work at all..recently it stopped for a few days. When I went to remove it and get a replacement, it was working again.

I've had two of these. The first one bought years ago worked reliably and was accurate until water spilled in it and fried it. The replacement was bought in December 2015 and never worked correctly. It was reading 2 degrees high when checked against other thermometers, and whenever you pressed the back light button the temperature reading would randomly fluctuate. This left me with zero confidence in using the device in my aquarium. I will not be purchasing a third.Based on my aforementioned experience with two of these, I believe the people reporting accuracy and inaccuracy are all correct in their relative experience. There's likely a factory quality control issue that makes it pot luck whether you'll get a good one or not. Hence I cannot recommend this and I will not be purchasing a third.

ACCURATE TEMPATURE READING. I have four aquariums and the thermometer seems accurate in all of them. I have never had any problems from any of them. My only suggestion to you is to ensure the gauge is not above an air bubble or close to a heater. This may make the reading inaccurate.

I've purchased three of these and have tested them against some high end aqua thermometer: only one of the three was off by less than .5 °F. Since one tank is coral reef Marine and the other two house breeding angels accurate temperature is one of the things i need. retail at Aqua stores they retail for $30.

I purchased two of these and neither was able to display any temperature which made sense. The reading would swing from -20F to 98F and back on both thermometers. Occasionally one would settle at a believable temperature (around 78F) but only for a short time and when both were working they were about 1.5F apart.

Didn't last a month don't bother

My guppy tank runs hot due to the weather here in Hawaii. This thermometer was easy to set up and is very easy to read. Battery operated so I don't have to overload a circuit for just the occasional spot check of my water quality.
