acceptable cable, but not as pictured
The picture does not depict the cable I received. I purchased this cable specifically because it is pictured with the ferrite chokes and thinner cable diameter. I don't like the thicker cables and prefer the compromise of having the chokes. Disappointingly, what I received was a thick cable with no chokes. It's a fine cable and the picture is otherwise correct, but if you're wanting this for the smaller diameter, look elsewhere. This is one of the thick and inflexible ones.On the other hand, if you're wanting the thicker cable (I presume the larger diameter contains additional shielding) then this is the one for you. It shows no signs of being a cheap cable and is probably well made. Aside from the non-white connectors (making it easier to overlook when looking for a DVI cable in a box of assorted cables) I have no other complaints about it at all. With an updated picture and description, this item would get 5 stars from me. The seller still loses major points for apparently not caring about changing stock, and for having a description which is inadequate to counter the inaccurate picture. Actually, it's inadequate for just about any use I can think of.EDIT:It seems a subsequent reviewer has received a cable with ferrite chokes only a few weeks after I received mine. I guess you're rolling the dice if you order this one. This is, of course, very common among cable suppliers. It's certainly no reason to waste your money on Monster or Belkin cables, though. Monoprice should be your first stop for any cable if you don't mind the delay and cost of shipping, but if you're cable shopping on Amazon due to Prime then by all means roll the dice on this one. There is no problem with quality here - only with regularity.

Does what it should
This is a nice low cost option for buying a dual link DVI cable. It is plenty long for most installations and the quality is very good. I use it with an HP LP3065 and the visual quality is excellent (at 2560x1600) - I've used it with both my MacBook Pro and also with my desktop PC equipped with an older NVidia 8800 GTS 512. This extra cable allows me to hook up both machines to the single monitor and easily switch back and forth between machines. I can't detect any visual quality difference between this cable and the one that is 3x as expensive and that came with the HP monitor. That's a winner in my book.Would highly recommend this cable for the price. As a bit of an aside - make sure that you really need THIS cable. Dual link cables are required for high resolution monitors and most people simply don't need a dual link cable. The dual link DVI pins provide an increase of speed and signal quality, allowing for greater resolutions. A DVI single link 60-Hz LCD can display a resolution of 1920 x 1200, while a DVI dual link can display a resolution of 2560 x 1600. If you are running 1920 x 1200 or less, save some money and buy a single link cable. I didn't know that until I actually needed the dual link, so I figured I'd mention it here just in case.

Works Fine
Had to get this cable when I upgraded my Graphics Card and the previous DVI didn't fit. What more to say about this than that it works. It appears to be gold plated which is usually a premium feature, and it has the beads on the cords (I guess they are called Ferrite Chokes) to dissipate magnetic interference, or something. So, 2 premium features at about 1/3-1/4 the cost of an identical cable at RadioShack or Best Buy (I know because I bought one from RadioShack while I waited for this one to arrive, and then promptly returned it). That's a win.P.S. Some people are saying that it's not actually a Dual Link, I have gotten pretty high resolutions out of this but don't remember exactly off hand if they are in the DL range. But if your graphics card supports those resolutions chances are it also has an HDMI slot, and I would recommend just using an HDMI cable, no?

HDMI cable
This ten foot cable is more than adequate for most needs. It carries the full spectrum of audio and video, and with gold plated connections give the high assurance of a positive flow of data, with minimum degradation. The price is nice. You may find a cheaper link, but beware of those. Cables are one of the weaker links in networking. This cable is backed by Amazon and the MFG. I have three and they all are great value. Use for connection of monitor to computer (if you have the HDMI slot or an adapter), or connect your players (audio or video) to a device with HDMI receptacle. If you have an older vid card, or monitor you may need the adapter of HDMI to the 15 pin D-link. Those are cheap and commonly available. The value is very good.

Cables Unlimited
I never could understand why they ship monitors and such with such short cables. I mean even a few more inches probablyIsn't going to break the company! Thanks to Amazon and the Cables Unlimited 10' DVI D I can now place my monitor anywhere on my desktop with no problem!I looked at the computer shop here in my town and the cables they sold were alot lighter and cheaper made. I don't knowif it helped getting a better quality cable but the price at Amazon was less then the shop was asking so I'm happy! So if like me your desk is made where the monitor has its own place and the cord is too short to put it there, you can find the answer at Amazon!

Brought my old monitor back to life, passes EDID info....well worth it
I went to Fry's electronics and bought 2 different cables, the second one I lost the reciept for so I wasted $20. None of them (Belkins!) would work without ghosting, and during use, they would not pass the EDID info to my computer. Sick of garbage I came here and found this cord - it's night and day, better, dual link!!!! Even if you don't have an HD monitor (I'm using this on an ancient LCD monitor from 2001) just *get it*. It makes it look as nice and bright and crisp as my new Samsung. What a huge difference it has made. And no ghosting....and now it shows up as the right monitor again instead of a Generic one.Of course shorter cords usually pass EDID info no matter how crappy the cord is, but at 10 feet, the Belkin cables just couldn't do it.
