****Updated*****Great product but you need a pc no Mac support
*****update****. I originally had some issues with this unit and not being able to update. Autel reached out to me and the customer service completely turned the experience around. Their team was very responsive, easy to work with, and genuinely focused on making things right. They processed a refund/credit quickly and helped me upgrade to a better replacement unit that works significantly better than the original. It’s rare to find a company that stands behind their product like this, and their willingness to fix the issue without hassle really says a lot. Because of the great customer support and the improved performance of the replacement unit, I would definitely recommend them. Beware. You will need a pc to update and use fully. If you do not update and register the product you will only get a limited number of uses. Why? Also there is no MAC or iOS option. So for anyone that does not have a pc I guess we are out of luck

Easier than expected.
Let me first set your expectations here. I'm a female who went from a 99 Toyota 4Runner to a 08 Lexus Is250. I'm not used to having a computer on wheels. So you could understand where my frustrations came from going from a low maintenance (fix it yourself with YouTube) rig to a bell's and whistles car where everything seems to trigger a maintenance light. Now let's be honest, I'm a female. So walking into some (I said some) mechanics means they either don't think I know my own vehicle or they try and sell me crap I don't need. I have only had this car about 5 months so when my tpms sensor light stayed on, and dash saying it was a system issue, I was already dreading it. I filled my tires to the manufacturer recommended psi and did the standard reset...nothing. I figured this is a good excuse to start learning how to work on my car. This device was easy to use. Full disclosure, I did watch a couple videos first, just to make myself feel a bit better. I had a dead battery in one sensor and low in others. I was about due for new tires anyway, so I ended up getting all 4 new sensors and tires. The system warning light went off after I left the tire shop. About 100 miles later, the tpms light came on but this time a screen error for low tire pressure. Here we go again. Haha. Scanned my tires, all 4 sensors were good. My back tires were a tad low, but not to where it SHOULD have triggered that warning. Filled them back up to spec. Scanned again making sure they were reading the same psi as my air compressor claimed. Yup. Tried the generic Lexus reset again. No change. Pulled out this devices cable, plugged it into the OBD port, followed the prompts for "relearn" and set the info. Tpms light went off and I have had zero issues since. Not sure if maybe they didn't reset them correctly when I got my new tires and sensors or what exactly the issue was. But I can tell you that this device is easy to use (even for a first time user knowing nothing about tpms) and it felt pretty dang good to fix something myself.

Easy to use and does what it's supposed to do
I bought this because I had just bought new wheels, tires, and TPMS sensors and every tire shop I went to told me that they will self program. I would just have to drive a while. Nope, didn't happen. I ordered this programmer, got it the next day, set it up on my PC, and went out and programmed the new sensors to my Lexus. It pretty much walks you through the process. Scan the sensors and it activates and stores the codes. Connect it to the OBD port and it writes the sensors to the TPMS module. No more flashing tire pressure sensor light. And with free updates, its well worth it.

Works great after updates.
Out of the box not so great. You must update. They have a new major OS firmware update and major vehicle coverage update. I could not get the updating to work with the unit connected to my pc with USB cable. But was able to stick the SD card in my computer and it updated fine with the latest software. Also you have to create an Autel account to get the new updater software program. User manual does not match latest OS. So programming cars is confusing at first. Must be in 4 sensor mode, not single to access TPMS ID programming through OBD. Also, with push button start cars make sure it is in ON not ACC. Typically requires 2 presses of the start button. So far worked on Infiniti G37x, Chevrolet Malibu, 2011 Nissan Maxima. The scanner screens started reacting slow to due to hefty updates. So I purchased a 32gb pny pro elite highest speed micro sd card with sd card adapter. Copied everything over and what a difference with speed after pressing buttons. Also if you install the wrong file allocation table when updating the sd card. The device will become inoperable. You need to unscrew the back of the enclosure and physically disconnect the battery and reconnect for a hard reset. Then everything will work fine. I only use VDO redi sensor, so no feedback on cloning with autel sensor mx. Wish you could write to any brand like the ones the stores carry locally.

Will work with any preprogrammed TPMS but not able to program non-Autel TPMS
Don't forget to register your product so you can update the software or else you cannot use the product properly. Bought TPMS brand Marsflex which was already preprogrammed. Used Autel TS501 Pro to relearn on my 2015 Yaris SE.. Worked great. My next vehicle to change TPMS will be a 2014 Prius C. Will also be using the preprogrammed TPMS Marsflex brand. I cannot program a non Autel TPMS on the Show Autel TS 501 Pro due to proprietary reasons. That's why I have to buy preprogrammed TPMS if I use non-Autel TPMS. Otherwise the product is great

Must have Windows PC
I almost never write reviews, I had to make an exception for this. I am leaving it 1 star because of the severity of this issue... The tool works fine, can read TPMS sensors, etc. However if you do not have a Windows PC on which you are willing to install a bunch of questionable software, you will have to return this tool. When you first power on the tool, it comes up in a mode that will only allow it to be used 10 times. Normal web registration is not too bad, however you MUST update the tool to take it out of this "intro" mode. This variant you have to update with the supplied USB cable connected to a computer. The only software available to download from Autel is an unsigned Windows "setup.exe". If you have a Mac, you are out of luck. If you think of updating it with your phone, you are out of luck. If you feel that it is 2025 when web apps can access USB ports on any computer, you are still out of luck. You will use the tool 10 times and then it will lock you out and you will have to return it. Only from a Windows machine can you update after a lengthy installation of the "Maxi PC Suite". Remarkable lack of foresight in 2025 from the manufacturer of an otherwise - probably - great product.

Saved me days of work and money out of my pocket - A Normal Guys story
This thing saved me a few trips to a mechanic, the cost of a new TPMS sensor, and $150 labor charge at a dealership. First, I'm not a mechanic, and a tool like this seems like overkill for someone who isn't, but I can assure you it ended up being worth it. --- ACT 1 | The Dream of Rims --- Our story begins with a dream: I wanted to swap the rims on my 2017 Tacoma with a guy who had a 2016 Tacoma. I needed 17" rims, as they also fit my wife's 4Runner, so we could have redundancy for our camping adventures. At the time I didn't realize it, but on Toyota vehicles, the ID of the sensor is programmed directly in the ECU and if you do a "relearn" by pushing the button, it only works if the Sensor IDs present in the wheels are the same programmed in the computer. Having swapped rims with my friend, they weren't. I approached a dealer and a few tire companies who told me it was time consuming to break down the tires and read the IDs, or to use their RF tools to scan and reprogram. I didn't believe them. Turns out I was right. THIS TOOL SCANNED MY RF IDs AND REPROGRAMED MY ECU IN 7 MINUTES. No tires had to be removed, it included everything, including on screen instructions on how to do it on the device, specific to your vehicle and year model. It even tells you if the batteries are still good, which all 4 were. That's important for later in the story. MY TPMS was working AGAIN!!!!!! --- ACT 2 | Treachery is a-foot! --- The next plan was with my new 17" rims, TPMS programmed in, and my dashlights returned to their normal state (off), I could pursue my final goal, putting some sweet looking rubber on those tasty wheels. I bought my tires online, went to a corresponding tire show (large chain), who proceeded to do the following up installation of my tires: 1. Snap a lug stud 2. Put 1 of the 4 tires on with the sidewall on backwards (had to unmount and flip...my sidewalls have 2 different patterns). 3. Break a TPMS sensor in my tire by using their tire removal tool (the thing that spins around and unmounts the tire from the rim). The snapped lug was pretty obvious, they told me about it. I happened to notice the sidewalls, so they fixed it. I left, happy with my new tires after a few hassles (i'd fix the snapped lug myself, it's pretty easy). I'm driving down the road and notice my TPMS isn't working. NO WORRIES, I BUST OUT THIS Autel MaxiTPMS TS501 doo-hickey and start scanning tires. The right side rear tire won't communicate with me. I take it back to the tire shop and find that when they took the tire back off there were parts of a TPMS sensor in the tire. They mentioned a battery could have also died, which would be on me to repair. I informed them I checked the batteries, they are all fine. So clearly their error. They confirmed when the tires were off I was right. They paid me $100 (in discount of purchase) for the lug, and replaced my TPMS with a Toyota branded one. (Had to run to dealership and get it). --- Act 3 | A happy ending --- Had I not had this tool, two things would have happened: 1. I would have had to pay someone $150 for 10 minutes of work to reprogram my sensors to my truck. 2. I might have spent days and $$$$ at a mechanic to diagnose the issue with my TPMS, only to discover it was broken and fight them to pay for the repair, since they broke it.

Great product Money well spent on the Autel Scanner
Money well spent. I bought the tool for my husband to scan our car to see what the problem was, and it did exactly as it was supposed to do. It scanned my car and informed me what the problem was. I highly recommend Autel Scanner. Great choice, great product. Thanks to the team at Autel. You guys are AWESOME!!!

Excellent Tool for TPMS Diagnostics – Highly Recommend!
I have Mitsubishi outlander, twice a year i have to change the tires and every time i have to go to the tire shops to relearn the tpms sensors, they charge for this service. It was annoying and a hassle as well. Then i decided to take this on my own and i buy Maxitpms tool, at first it looks expensive but later on it will pay back. The device is user-friendly, with a clear interface that makes it easy to navigate, even for beginners. It quickly reads sensor data, performs relearns, and activates OEM and aftermarket sensors with no issues. What stands out most is the tool's compatibility with a wide range of vehicles. It saved me time and hassle by streamlining diagnostics and service processes.

Quality Unit... Worked well and fast on my Lexus RC350
Obtained winter tires just before COVID... had them installed at a local tire store with OEM TPMS purchased separately. Had to get Lexus dealership to read and upload new sensors... to ECM. 30 minutes of garage time to do it! Never went back after I put all seasons back on. Just let the TPMS light flash. Found reference to this Autel unit on the Lexus Forum and bought it. As someone said already, the manual can be a challenge to review... but I did anyway. Appears it was translated or originally written in a language that wasn’t English. The unit itself is very robust and intuitive enough. Never updated firmware... and didn’t need to charge (it was already @100%). Out of the case, after reviewing instructions I spent just over 5 minutes going through the process... all done. Sadly, it will have to wait now in its case until I switch out all seasons for winters in fall. I plan to use it to fine tune the air already in tires... to give me an accurate PSI reading (to one decimal point)... much like a digital tire gauge would do. Highly recommended if you don’t want to see the flashing light on your dash and want to know your tire pressure with all sets of tires you have for your car!

I now own a USELESS BRICK
ZERO CUSTOMER SUPPORT ... purchased item, took delivery, then found out that you are required to register product in order to download its software... problem is they require a cell number to text you a code before being able to register/download/make the thing work... I HAVE NO CELL PHONE (do not need the extra bill every month)... thus no code can be sms'ed ... can't register product... can't download software... can't use this expensive BRICK emails to manufacturer have gone UNANSWERED .... CRICKETS! ... if you expect a company to support their products... DO NOT CHOOSE AUTEL

High quality product. The TPMS tools (both triggering and programming) work as advertised.
I ordered this tool to reprogram a set of tires for a Lexus IS250 (315MHz). This tool works as advertised. I was able to trigger the sensor, readout the ID and write the ID to the ECU using the OBD cable (for all four wheels) on the Lexus. I found one minor inconvenience when trying to update the software/firmware. This tool came with a CD-ROM disk and I don't have a CD/DVD drive to install the software. I tried to contact tech support via chat session. Someone responded to my chat and then ended the chat session (without any explanation) even before I got the chance to type up a short message explaining the problem (i.e. I was looking for software to download, but couldn't find it on their website). Tech support emailed me and explained to me that they needed to go for lunch and ended the chat session. This is not very professional. I ended up having to find a CD-ROM drive to copy the software onto a USB drive and installed it on my laptop/tablet. The upgrade process was straightforward. The user manual did not explain all the menu options (i.e. what does the ECU Unlock for?). I also tried the Key Fob signal measurement tool. I suspect this tool is NOT working properly on my unit. It couldn't detect ANY signal from my Lexus IS key FOBs. It detects very weak (6 to 13%) signal from my Acura MDX key Fobs. All my key FOBs are in good working condition and batteries are pretty new. I will contact Tech support to for advice on this issue. Other than the minor issues mentioned above, it is very well built and works as advertised.
