I recently used the STANLEY FATMAX Retractable Folding Utility Knife to fit a new carpet, and I couldn’t be more pleased with its performance. Bought this to use when laying self adhesive floor tiles it is very comfortable to hold and worked a treat would highly recommend. Great value too and not too heavy I am a 69 year old woman.

I’ve used what I would call the ‘basic’ Stanley knives for years, but recently decided I wanted a retractable, foldable knife, one that I could easily carry in my front pocket and/or clip on my belt. There’s lots of knives out there to choose from, but after checking out the different designs and brands, and reading through numerous reviews, I found that this Fatmax one offered me the best bang for my buck and had all the features and more that I required - and it was also reasonably priced!I do like that there is inbuilt blade storage and that you actually receive three pre-packed blades in there. It’s easy to access the blades and to change them and I found I could actually fold and unfold the knife one-handed. There’s a metal belt clip attached to the body of the knife, and there’s even a little divot on the bottom of the knife that can be used as a string cutter. I do like its ergonomically designed shape which incorporates a ridged silicone topped handle - making it a comfortable and safe tool to use. Overall, I’m very impressed with my new knife and it’s definitely a product I can recommend to tradespeople and DIYers like me.

Another excellent product but it could do with a QR code to scan and follow a simple video of how to install the blades, i had to watch a yt video after nearly slicing fingers off. On the positives, its solid, folds easily by a slight press of the metal tab inside of housing and stores away into a small size which is handing. Stanley just need to sort out that video and it would be a much better customer service experience.

Good, took a few attempts to get blade in to start with but got there in the end and since then been great.

Nice little Stanley knife bought to replace my vintage knife of 40 years. Stanley are a good brand as my last knife is testament to that fact. Although it still works it now belongs in a museum. Let's hope this posh new folding knife lives up to the Stanley reputation. Folds to half the size and does hold a few spare blades which are easy to replace. It's light and good value for the price. Even used it to cut new fire bricks for the wood burner so quite tough too. Remember buy cheap buy twice. Also go with a traditional make you get what you pay for.

What an absolute disaster of a purchase! I should have just thrown my money directly into the bin—it would have saved me the frustration of dealing with this piece of junk.First off, getting the blade in was a workout worthy of an Olympic event. By the time I finally managed it, the retractable bottom decided to stage a dramatic exit and detach itself completely. I mean, come on, was this thing held together with hopes and prayers?!Now, instead of a functional item, I have a pile of useless parts and a growing sense of rage. Returning it immediately before it spontaneously combusts or does something else ridiculous.
