Purple Van Man, is 8 out of 10 Cats star Sean Lock's fantastic new DVD, recorded in front of a sold out audience at London's Hammersmith Apollo. We all know what white van man thinks about the world we live in but it's time to hear a different voice, the purple van man's voice. Filled with gags, opinions, deft observations and some silly voices, this is Sean Lock doing what he does best, spouting inspired jibber jabber as he crosses the country in his purple van. He will make you laugh like a drunken horse.

A return to form
Sean Lock is one of my favourite comedians. Deeply cynical and world weary, he says a lot of things that just make sense and is what you'd call naturally funny.I say this is a return to form, because although still very good, I think Lockipedia didn't scale the same heights as his first live DVD. Too long, and he ran out off steam. This zips along though. I was (sadly) able to nod and laugh along at the drinking stories. There's a part about cringing flashbacks that is extremely funny. All in all, well worth it. Treat yourself, it's Christmas.

Lacking the laughs
Having seen Sean Lock on tv over the years I have always found him to be a funny guy but in this stand up it was just an overall disappointment. There were few jokes that I felt really worked well and I didn't find myself laughing very much at all.

Never Not Funny
I don't know if this would convert you to Sean Locks humour as I am already a fan and have been for years. Regardless, this is as good a DVD as any to enjoy the world weary views of Mr. Lock. Very funny and highly recommended.

Perfect for any fan
I got this for my partner who is a Sean Lock fan, arrived promptly. He loved this DVD and is great for any fan, was a little disappointed that the first part of the DVD was the same as the Christmas episode of Live at the Apollo and so we already knew how it would go but this was only about 20 mins of the show

Too good to tell 'Jimmy' jokes!
As usual, a high standard from Sean, but he is too clever and original to get cheap laughs telling jokes about a well known BBC star called Jimmy.Leave that rubbish to 'comics' like Jimmy Carr.Otherwise, this would have been a 5-star review.
