filters awesome; packaging not so great
The filters are superb; use them every day for quite a while; packaging is not so. Could you put some piece of tape on the box. When i received my package today there were several items Amazon.com put into a box. All the filters were spread all over the box since the filter boxes were not securely taped. It is not healthy at all to use such filters to brew coffee.

Clean cup, but less flavor.
Chemex filters produce the cleanest cup of coffee I've ever had. It doesn't produce as flavorful a cup as I would prefer, but it works great as a second filter after doing a pour over with bunn brand filters. I call it a one and a half pour over. I like to let the pour over sit for a minute or two before pouring through the Chemex filter. Best of both worlds for me.

Adds some taste to the coffee
The half moon filters are fine; the unbleached add some paper bag taste and if I am really feeling up to it (most times) I run some hot water through it first and discard the water, then add the coffee, presoak the beans, and run the water at a slow rate. I did this once and tasted the water after just running the water with no beans - it was like drinking a paper bag. I tried this with the bleached filters and it was like drinking one of those white paper bags. The downside is that now, with any pour over coffee, I can tell when the filter has not been rinsed before making the coffee and it brings me back to that failed experiment.Sometimes the full circle filters are even cheaper, and folding them once more in half after folding into a quarter circle will fit the Chemex. So, if you are looking to save money, check that out as an option. This also avoids the less attentive (and like me the unable to decipher their iconic instructions on the back of the box) from causing the coffee grounds to leak into the coffee by way of the little bit beyond the half moon.Overall I deduct a star because (a) they impart a lot of taste to the coffee (b) they are more expensive than the full circle filters and (c) the half moon fold is not always intuitive to people who make coffee, particularly with the poor infographics provided on the box.

Strong product. Great results
I enjoy both the chemex coffee pot and the filters. Although I have yet to use the last set of filters i purchased, because I still have some left over, I have never been disappointed in this product. They are always strong and never tear. We compost the filters and they break down very well in out backyard composting pile. I dont know what bonded means in terms of this product but for anyone interested these filters come flat and you have to fold them. To me this is a plus, perhaps I am in a slight bit OCD (in the literal sense) because i enjoy the ritual of folding and brewing as part of my morning routine. But if your doing a pour over coffee for yourself I'm sure you feel the same. As far as coffee taste goes it can turn any bean into a smooth and tasty cup and the best beans into coffee to die for.

Chemex products and filters
I’ve used Chemex products for over 60 years going from the larger ones in the past to the one cup pot now. While I’ve tried other ways to make coffee I’ve always returned to the Chemex systemThey make the best coffee of anything that I’ve triedI think that their secret is the shape of their pots and the quality of their filters I started with their bleached white filters but switched to the unbleached ones which I prefer They do require the user to fold them and in the 60 years that I’ve used them I have never spilled any grounds If someone cannot manage to fold a filter paper 3 times they should probably use a simpler system
