Breaker Bar (1/2" Drive/Extended Leverage)

This bar is one of the best I have ever used... I just did 2 BMW n20 timing jobs over the weekend and it held up removing both crank bolts and installing new bolts I had to use a double jack handle extension about 3 feet to get the final torque on both bolts, it was nerveing giving me flashbacks of snap on and mac bars snapping, while the bar had some flex it went back to form and very little scuff/wear seen on the head area the size is right and build quality is excellent and the weight is just about perfect for 1/2 as I am a mobile mechanic fits in my flow nicely I might look for a 3/4 but I would say this tool is as good if not better than a 3/4 tekton I used a few times from a coworker years ago, Good value and even better if I never have to test the warranty.

The longer the bar the greater the leverage. Also, the greater the tendency to deform and flex or bend. I bought this to break loose bolts tightened to 150 foot-pounds! The cost on this was comparatively low so I was curious as to how it would work when really stressed. I was doing drive gear work on my motorcycle and had several fasteners to break loose. None had ever been loosened since factory install over 24 years ago, so I expected to have serious effort expended. To my delight it was PERFECT for my job needs. In use it showed very little flexing and honestly, did not require too much power to break loose even the largest and most tightly torqued fasteners! I watched videos of big, strongly muscled guys doing the same job I had where they strained and had great difficulty breaking loose the same fasteners I addressed. Mine were red Loctite coated too, yet the leverage from this breaker bar did the job well. It has a place of honor in my shop and is my immediate go-to for any bolt or fastener I think is going to be a challenge. Recommended.

1st, this is a really nice tool and I like it. 2nd, it took 7 weeks to get it, no fault of the seller though. The 1st package was lost in the U. S. post office somewhere and when it was finally delivered I got a torn up empty box. I've had empty boxes from the post office before because they don't give a tinkers damn about you or your parcel. FedEx and UPS employees will tape your package up if they see it getting torn up, but don't expect that from the post office.

Impact Wrench not working? No matter what the model? manufacturer? torque ft./lbs? battery size? Do this immediately. Purchase a Capri Breaker Bar in one of these sizes: 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", For ease of lug nut removal buy the extended length bar. Your back, arms, legs, knees will thank you. Even the family members will get involved. Good pricing too. One fantastic durable breaker bar. Changing tires? A piece of cake! I'm not employed by Capri breaker bar company.

Good product but it is 28.5 inches from the end to the hinge point and 29 inches total. They should just give the lenth in mm.

Purchased for easy off wheel lug nut removals. Alloy rims/tires easily unlocked from >129 ft-lbs vehicle wheel lug nut specification. 30inch length bar makes easy work of 21mm lug removals.. capri brand bar does not flex in this twenty lug nut off task. In my old hands this tool is less worry, in longer term storage than a battery powered impact wrench. Relatively thin storage profile takes up minimal space on the edge of my trunk for emergency use. Fits the task perfectly for my applications. Bar has a replacement warranty for a lifetime of use. Reliably works for me and is worth the value for money purchase price.

I have a 3/4”-drive 20” breaker bar, a thick good one, but it couldn’t break loose the crankshaft pulley bolt on my Honda Fit. The bolt gives 1,000lbs ft torque impact wrenches a hard time for some people, I’ve read. I have a beefy Kobalt 350lbs impact and it didn’t cut it. I bought this breaker bar I’m reviewing via Amazon. It had some flex when using it (I had to stand on it and bounce a little, I’m 145lbs). I was afraid it was going to break but it worked! It broke the crankshaft bolt loose and didn’t break itself. For the price, this was an excellent purchase. Even if it has a short life, it did what I needed it to. 10/10 for the price, would recommend.

I'm getting older so I can bust loose those tight bolts with less effort. But you need to understand that as with all tools it will break if you over do it. Plus the fact that this is so much longer it would be easy to do. I understand the whole leverage thing so I'm sure that I won't have any problems. If you are older or getting older and are tired of those extra tight lug nuts this thing takes them off no problem with little effort.

Overview I bought this to do tire changes. My normal socket wrenches are far too short to get the leverage required to break free stuck on lug bolts. The only long wrench I have is a 30 inch torque wrench...and you do not want to be using that rather delicate mechanism to break the blots free. A breaker bar is considerable cheaper... I have used this bar several times already for tire changes. I also used it to remove a old rusted on door hing from a barn. The force you can generate from the 30 inch fulcrum is amazing. Build quality is heavy duty. I like the f act that it does not ratchet...that's just one more thing to break when you are removing frozen nuts and bolts. A must have addition to your tire changing kit. Tip: I don't recommend using this to tighten bolts, even ones where you don't need to worry about a specific torque setting. The length just creates too much force with very little elbow grease. You will end up either stripping out the threads or snapping the bolt or socket or torque head. This is purpose built to remove stuck fasteners.... Pros -Great value -Simple design and very heavy duty -A prefect compliment to your 30 inch torque wrench. Cons -None Recommendation – Would buy it again and would highly recommend.
