Great for sensitive skin
This is a liquid mineral sunscreen (active ingredients titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) which is the only type of sunscreen that my sensitive skin tolerates. I also have rosacea. It was recommended to me by my dermatologist as other sunscreens make me break out. It is very liquid and you need to shake the bottle vigorously and then pour a little in the palm of your hand and then spread it over your skin. You don't need much, a little goes a long way. I wear it over moisturizer and under foundation, but on occasion I have even put it over foundation when later in the day I needed to be out in the sun. Both ways work great. As with all mineral sunscreens it can make your face a little whitish, but not nearly as bad as others I have tried, and with make up over it that shouldn't be a problem. It doesn't make my face as shiny as other sunscreens have. I wear it when I swim laps, too. It is a tiny bottle but don't let that fool you, it is so liquid you don't need much. Easy to take on the plane too. I can't recommend this highly enough and hope that Neutrogena never discontinues this.

I wear this every day!
This sunscreen has been a daily staple for me for a couple years now. It is the only sunscreen I've used that doesn't make my skin really oily later on. I only wear mineral-based sunscreens and anything less than SPF 45 is a waste to me.I use about 5 drops total to cover my whole face (a little goes a long way with mineral-based sunscreens). Because this stuff goes so far, I dated the last bottle when I opened it to see just how long it would last me - It lasted me almost a year and a half! Talk about bang for your buck!I've also made my own "BB cream" with this because the regular kinds don't have a high enough SPF for me. I just mixed equal amounts of sunscreen, primer, and foundation and voila! However, you should know that ALL mineral-based sunscreens leave a white-ish cast to your skin, and the darker your skin tone the more noticeable this will be! But it shouldn't be an issue for you if you wear it under make-up. If it is, you're probably wearing too much. If you find you *can't* apply the sunscreen any more lightly because it physically won't spread far enough, try applying it at the same time as your moisturizer or primer. This sunscreen is quite concentrated! You really just need a few drops!

one of the best drugstore sunscreens
This is what I use for my face and hands when I'm out of my La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Ultra-Light Facial Sunscreen Fluid. They are very similar. The label is correct: this is very liquid, which makes it easy to apply evenly with the coverage needed to make it a functional as a sunscreen. I usually use a nickel sized amount to cover my face and neck, and a dime to cover my hands. The finish is ever so slightly powdery to the touch and makes a great base for makeup. You might hear that it doesn't leave a white cast, but that's incorrect - it does leave a slight one. I'm pale skinned with neutral undertones, and this is barely noticeable on me. However, if you're darker skinned, or just care about looking like your're wearing sunscreen, I would look for a chemical based sunscreen instead (or try La Roche Posay Mineral sunscreens). Also: unlike thicker sunscreens in the Pure & Free line (or anywhere, really), this one lets your skin breathe. I have combination skin with occasional acne, and this has never broken me out.Can I also point out how perfectly sized it is? It fits almost anywhere, so you'll actually take it with you and use it!

I'm in love with this stuff!
I'm so afraid right now that this might be discontinued right after I found it! I have sensitive skin and mild rosacea, and am quite fair. This leaves no detectable white cast, but somehow blurs out the redness at the same time. It has yet to irritate my skin, I can't pick up any scent, and it dries quickly to a matte finish. It can be a touch drying, but in June in the humid Southeast, that's a bonus! I use a dime to nickel amount for my whole face, but I do one area at a time because it dries so quickly.Note, please don't dilute it with regular moisturizer. If you find it drying, wear lotion under it, but if you dilute it and only use a couple of drops, you're not going to get adequate protection.

Non-greasy and fast-absorbing
This is a great sunscreen for the face. It goes on dry and does not leave a greasy film. It absorbs quite quickly. I like the small packaging which makes it easy to carry around in my bag to reapply throughout the day. I have very sensitive skin but I tolerate this sunscreen well. I have not had any problems with sunburn while wearing this product. I would definitely buy it again.

Very Good for Sensitive Skin
I tried both this Neutrogena product, the Pure & Free spf 50 and also Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer liquid sunblock, spf 70 and this one (Pure & Free) is the only one I can use. The regular ultra sheer liquid bothers my eyes and makes them very itchy by the end of the day. I try to keep it away from my eyes but it always seems to migrate there after it's been on for several hours.I like the Pure & Free and it never bothers my eyes no matter how long I have it on so it's great for those of us with sensitivities. I do think the Ultra Sheer liquid goes on a little smoother under my makeup but this one is a close second. I'm so glad Neutrogena is continuing to make this formula with the titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. I think the ingredients are more natural as well.I will definitely keep using this formula of sunscreen. Plus, I like the fact that it's reasonably priced compared to department store sensitive formula sunscreens that have almost the same ingredients.
