Very good mouse to have
Love this mouse so much. Comfortable, smooth scrolling and easy to set profiles that are colour coded by the light on the mouse make it easy to use. The free software download lets you program your buttons and speeds how you like with a total of 4 profiles which are stored on the mouse. Adjustable sensitivity etc also has 4 programmable settings per profile.

Excellent build quality, lots of adjustments to fit all hand sizes.
Really easy to use, adjusted very quickly to fit my hand and I like the pinky rest which keeps my 3rd & 4th fingers off the mousepad. Despite other comments, I found the software for setting up the lighting and the sensitivity was easy and intuitive to use.I like the quality feel of the buttons, the specific features like the aim button and the second scroll wheel, and the ability to adjust sensitivity and speed on the fly. Once set, the profile is saved in the mouse, so there is no need to have unnecessary software running on the pc the whole time.

Cheaper, lighter and more fragile than older models
I've previously had multiple R.A.T. 5's and they've been fantastic. As they're no longer available, I opted for the 6+ as it has the same feature set. Now, I never expected like for like. There had to be something different between the two. The aesthetics are slightly different, so is the grip. I figured that'd be most of it but unfortunately the biggest and most noticable difference is the lower quality for roughly the same price. The side scroll wheel is now plastic instead of metal. The switches feel a lot cheaper. The visible cables "inside" the mouse are now thinner and smaller. There's extra cheaper, more brittle plastic in places. This means that the weight is significantly lower than the 5. The box didn't come with extra weights to match the difference so hopefully I can canabalise some from the 5 into the 6+. All in all, I think my journey with MadCatz has come to an end and once this mouse has broken in some fashion, I'll have to scour the internet for a good replacement mouse.

Smooth, nicely weighted and comfy
Has a really nice weight to it which makes it nice to move around. The only downside is the software which still looks like it was made by a design team and has very limited functionality. I have actually crashed out the mouse due to this (motion worked but no buttons registered). The few things you can do with the software is really nice quality of life stuff though like auto-clicker and basic macros which I fo use often.

WOW! Worst Mad Catz mouse I've EVER bought
I bought the Mad Catz AIR mouse. The most expensive mouse from Mad Catz I've ever purchased. I've owned 2 of the Mad Catz RAT 9 Wireless mice, 1 Mad Catz Rat X Pro, 1 pre-bankruptcy Mad Catz Rat 8, and 1 post-revival Mad Catz Rat 8+ mouse. This latest mouse is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. I'll explain why:- The finish on the plastic (left/right click areas, for example) is made of very low quality material. After just a few weeks, it's wearing off and it's turning into slippery/shiny plastic.- The material of the mouse itself. Holy CRAP is it ever bad. It's made of plastic. Very poor quality plastic. All other premium RAT mice I've purchased have had a metal exoframe. Due to the wireless charging mechanics of this mouse, they probably had to go with plastic instead of metal. The problem is...they didn't alter the design at all. So elements that were created due to the strength and durability of the metal previously used, are now completely useless. Clicking on the side buttons or holding the mouse causes the support pieces on both the left and right side of the mouse to completely bend and push inwards.- The middle mouse button has the absolute worst click/switch I've ever seen in any mouse. This is a horrible product. Mad Catz may be back, but in name only. The quality that made me such a huge fan of the RAT line of mice for the last 7 years is gone. They're using the same molds and designing mice in the same shape as before, but with subpar materials and finishes. I 100% would not recommend this mouse. The RAT 8+ is also inferior to the original RAT 8, but is still a decent mouse. Get that if you like the Mad Catz design. But stay away from this garbage product.

fantastic
this mouse brand has been around for a long time but i didnt get one because of the price but i dont like using a light weight mouse so i got one of these (the rat 8 plus) , if anything i would prefer this mouse if it was a bit heavier but its fine as it is. it is nice quality, my main concern was that the side buttons would bother me but they dont. my other mouse had annoying side buttons & everytime i picked it up those buttons would trigger & mess my browser up, this is not like that, the buttons dont trigger all over the place, there is a precision aim button on the side but its not in the way so you can handle the mouse without setting it off. nice quality, i like the rubbery grip panels. will update review after ive used it for a while.
