Hercules DJMonitor 42: 2 x 20 watts RMS active monitoring speakers

I actually gave myself almost 2 months using these before reviewing them. I used them for my music with my main stereo system and needed to really adjust to them, learn how the settings work and get used to speakers more advanced than my old ones. I had an old school stereo system with cd player, receiver and speakers. The speakers sounded great but were decades old. These were my chance to come to the modern age and truly see how technology had advanced. Gone was the need for the receiver and I hooked these speakers up directly to my cd player. At first the sound sounded pretty similar but after much daily use and playing different types of music really putting these to the test I can say they are pretty admirable. I use them in a studio apartment and placed correctly the sound is pretty great with excellent definition, clarity and fine bass and treble. I have always been a find the setting you like and leave it there guy and the same has been true with these. I am really glad I got them. They are well made, obviously very durable and I love the look of them. Small in size the sound certainly is not. I am sure many will use these for uses different than me but I found their quality in build and performance quite excellent. Highly recommend.

These speakers feel solid and appear well made. They were easy to set up and they sound very good - I would say they sound excellent for their size. I docked a point because the manufacturer claims "High-performance DJ speakers for a near-studio experience! " which just isn't true with 4" woofers. The music I played (mostly rock) was well separated and there certianly was clarity in the highs and midrange. The sound was good and the volume more than loud enough (it certainly could be too loud) in my moderately-sized bedroom office. These are better, for sure, than powered computer. For me, they are great and a wonderful value and I recommend them highly. The controls on the front are fine; I typically leave the treble and base alone, and mostly the volume too as I control all of that on my computer/phone. There is also an Aux in and a headphone jack, so I appreaciate the flexibility although I don't use it much. I wish the power button was on the front so I could turn it off more easliy when not in use, like for the weekend. Also the provided wire to connect the two speakers together (the right has the amplifier which powers both speakers, the left through a two-wire cable) seemed a bit thin. If they are talking about "near studio" quality, I would have expected something a bit thicker as it carries the power from the amplifier in the right speaker to the loudspeaker in the left speaker and isn't just for signal. There are no speaker grills, so what you see is what you get. Overall a nice set of speakers that I'd recommend for very good sound for casual listening.

This is great for average size rooms and the home parties. If you try to blast it for a large room you’ll get some distortion. It has great audio on the speakers and good coverage if speakers are positioned as recommended. Good sized woofers to help amp up that pool party. I used them for my sons college graduation party and really had fun with them. Easy to move around and figure out settings. There are enough extras like tweeters to allow you to get a little creative. Good control on the bass. There is an area for headphones so you can feel like a professional DJ. Quality sound in VFW size rooms. Again, not enough power or big enough speakers to handle a super big wedding hall etc.

left speaker doesn't come on and my wife threw away the box -_-

these are powered speakers so know you need a plug near by these are for computers and TV's than need "better" speakers and have an output jack for A/B speakers or for amplification of any direct wire component like say a mixing table or computer (use the 3.5 input jack 3.5 to 3.5) they have great sound and they worked well...but understand the limits here They DO NOT have wireless or bluetooth capability They DO NOT have a full size RCA input jack Given those limits at nearly $150 they are certainly overpriced so I can not recommend them if they are retailing closer to $60 or 70 I would strongly consider them

First of all, I found these speakers to be well-made. I used the instructions as drawn on the box, which I found easy to follow. Size-wise, they were small and compact for me. In terms of usage, the volume, treble, and bass were adjustable. The power switch was in the back. I am a fan of collecting old vinyl records and playing them on my turntable, which I connected to these speakers through an RCA cable. I was impressed with the sound quality, which was very nice. So far, I'm happy with these speakers.

These speakers are awesome quality- they sound loud and clear. Great value for the money. Easy set up and easy to use. Great value for the money.

en general pude comprobar que hercules su fuerte no es el audio desconozco cual sea, compre estos monitores y al poco tiempo perdieron volumen y calidad de audio la construccion es buena los materiales tambien pero de poco sirve si el audio no es bueno(los usaba para mezclar musica electronica en casa) por ese precio hay pioners que pioneer en audio es calidad

I picked these speakers up for $53. For that price they can't be beat. Decent bass and treble. I use them in my office hooked up to my my vintage Telefunken receiver/amp powering a Marantz turntable. They do a surprisingly good job of cranking out my LP vinyl collection. Perfectly fine for an office/small room, but maybe not a larger room. The connection is not great, I actually run them through the headphone jack on my receiver and the on/off switch on the back of the right speaker is stupidly placed. If you can pick them up for under $60 they are definitely worth it.

Casse molto belle e valide acusticamente. Sono soddisfatto dell'acquisto e mi sento di consigliarlo a chi vuole godere appieno della propria musica. Io le ascolto a casa ed anche a bassi volumi si puo' apprezzare la qualita'.
