I found mine stabbed into the knot of a tree at a lake. I took it home and rehoned the blade and not is still my favorite knife 7 years later. So yeah, they're pretty durable

The blade is very thin. I don't have anything that would measure it. It's thinner than my Henckels and Cutco knives. Terrific chopper.
