What is the distance between the screw holes?

1 and 12/32" between the inner-edges of the holes.

What is the width of the collar?

Approximately 5/8". Compatible with standard door knobs vintage 1920-1930+, Fit perfectly with my existing door knobs. Strong, solid casting reinforces hardware function and reliability. Included brass screws not the best.

I need to replace one of the screws--what size around are the screws?

Most likely a 4/1/2”-3/4” or a 6/1/2”-3/4” Brass flat head screw should work. I you can, bring the plate to a hardware store to make sure the screw fits through the hole, the head fits flush in the plate front hole and extends at least 1/2” beyond the rear side of the plate to allow for a strong grip to the wood and prevent future loosening and loss. If the existing hole has become too large for the screw to grip; insert and drive in small pieces of wood toothpicks to fill the hole and snap ends off flush with the door surface so the new screw gets a good grip and strong connection so you will not have to do this again. Best wishes for success!

Can these be used outdoors?

Since the supplier states they are solid brass they are suitable for outdoor use. I have one installed on an exterior door and it has held up well. For extra tarnish protection it can be sprayed with a long lasting clear coating. They are strong and still look good without any treatment.
