The blade is 2.25" from hinge to tip of blade. I use this for trimming bushes and they stay super sharp. This is my second one.

Can you buy new springs? I have a bunch of pairs and keep loosing spring as such I have 6 pairs and only 1 spring...

How long will these last if i use them on pygmy goats only?

Of course it depends on how many goats you have, but they should last a long time. I've been using mine on a small herd of Nigerian dwarf goats for over a year and they are still as good as new.
