I’ve tried so many hairsprays over the years and most of them leave my thick, wavy hair feeling stiff, sticky, or coated in that weird buildup that looks like dandruff by the end of the day. This one is COMPLETELY different. It gives me the soft, flexible hold I need without weighing down my curls or making them look crunchy or wet. My hair is long, wavy, and usually impossible to style unless I use “helmet-level” hairsprays… and I hate the feeling of those. This gives just enough hold to keep my waves looking defined and controlled while still feeling like actual hair. No stiffness, no flakes, no irritation on my scalp. The scent really does smell like sweet lemon meringue pie!!!! but in a soft, creamy way instead of that sharp citrus that gives me migraines. I’m usually super sensitive to fragrances, but this one didn’t bother me at all. One of my favorite things is brushing it out before a shower. With most hairsprays, brushing turns my hair into a rat’s nest. With this, the brush glides straight through and my curls still look soft and touchable. My split ends also don’t look magnified from gunk or dried out like they usually do with hairspray. My can arrived dented in a few places (you can see it in the photo), but the spray itself works perfectly. And honestly, the pink matte packaging is so pretty it still photographed beautifully. I ended up letting it “pose” on a grassy backdrop because it deserved its moment 🫶. If you want a hairspray that feels like nothing but still keeps your style in place ALL DAY LONG, this is the one. Lightweight, soft, flexible, and smells like dessert. Love it!!!!

I’m really impressed with Cake Beauty The Hold Out Hairspray. The hold is fantastic, flexible, brushable, and truly touchable without feeling stiff or sticky. It keeps my style in place while still allowing natural movement, which is exactly what I look for in a hairspray. The texture feels light and clean, never heavy or crunchy, and it layers beautifully if you need a little extra hold. And the scent? Absolutely lovely like a cake, without being overpowering. If you want a multi-tasking spray that delivers hold while still feeling soft and natural, this one is a winner.

I like the smell and the hold is nice. However, the hold does not work very well for straight, fine Asian hair. My hair is nearly impossible to shape and the hairspray keeps my hair up for half the day I'd say.

My fave! I’ve purchased this about 5x in past. I decided a couple of months ago to purchase a different one that was bigger & less expensive and I was waiting for the day for it to run out. The smell on this is amazing! Makes me think I’m backing a vanilla cake everytime I spray it! Plus it’s holds my hair so well. Love!

The smell is pretty strong. Smells nice though. The hold is more of a light to medium hold. I use it for my bangs and they fall by the end of the day. But helps keep the flyaways down.

This is my 3rd Cake hair care product and it is as great as the others I have tried. I have soft waves, that I normally wear straight. But with our recent humidity I've been wearing it wavy. This hair spray smells great, goes on evenly, and keeps my frizz down and my waves smooth. Very happy with it.

This stuff is amazing! It’s the perfect light and flexible hold without being sticky or crunchy, providing the perfect amount of texture to keep my unruly wavy fine hair in the style I like without feeling gross. My hair is ridiculously soft and never holds a style without a little help, especially when it’s short like it is now. I can’t stand the feeling of any kind of product in my hair and most of them are far too heavy, creating buildup on my sensitive scalp. But this hairspray is wonderful! Smells of sweet lemon meringue as advertised and not too overpowering or headache inducing, which my ridiculously sensitive nose appreciates. 👍🏽👍🏽 As a side note, this hairspray also works pretty well to seal artwork such as oil pastels in sketchbooks to prevent it from sticking on other pages 👏🏽

Useless product does not work and should be taken off the market. Does not hold hair whatsover.

It smells HEAVENLY. I even feel guilty putting on perfume after this hair spray because of how good it smells. It also works exactly as I expected it to — very light hold, I can't feel it on my hair at all, no stickiness, no stiffness, just sorta gives the hair some texture and lightly holds it from sliding back and forth. Love it.

Lovely formulated product for non-sticky hold. It has a lovely lemon meringue light scent.

Great hold, smells awesome! I hate the traditional hairspray smell, this hairspray smells like lemon candy and I’m so here for it. Cake consistently impresses me each time I try a new product.

Nice and soft hold but unfortunately smells bad. Comments given on smell so only use occasionally.
