I've used it 5 times over the summer and it's been much better than a siphon
I've been "babying" this pump because other reviewers said it broke. I use it overnight and then bring it inside until it is needed again. I've used it 5 times over the summer and it's been much better than a siphon.

Poorly designed, but does what its supposed to.
It seems like a poor design. It is not heavy enough to sit in the cover properly - Had to kind of "hold" it down and it would twist a lot when you have the hose connected to it. It's not convenient. The auto on/off works well. I wouldn't recommend this product unless you have a very small pool cover that you can walk completely around and are able to hold it into the water on the cover. It does move the water out though - so it does the job its intended to it - just seems flawed.

No Longer am I keeping positive and hopeful.
My previous review can be viewed below. The pump has stopped working. We pumped off the water last week, in anticipation of opening our pool. Before we could do that, we got 4 inches of rain.We expected the pump to automatically start pumping again, as advertised. That did not happen. We checked all electrical connections and the pump is receiving juice. THE PUMP IS NO LONGER WORKING!!! It appears to have burned out after 1 use. I want to return the item but since I had reviewed it earlier, the link to return is not longer available. What should I do now?The pump works as advertised. It is our third one. It pumps quite a bit slower than previous Little Giant pumps we owned. The problem with the others is that they burned out in 2 seasons. Pumps are too expensive to replace every other year. I'm hoping this pool cover pump will last us many more seasons.

Very disappointed, worked only 2 times within 3 weeks ( 2 heavy rainstorms) After a 3rd heavy rainstorm I plugged it in and it did not function. Amazon was gracious enough to send a replacement immediately. Hope the new one will work a lot longer

one of the best things to have for people with pools; does not clog, no need to clean it , just unplug and put away when done
