Coghlan's Camp Cooker

I do not like the heavy all cast iron cookers as by the time the sandwich is ready I am ready to give up holding it over the fire. This is made of a lightweight metal and still has a non stick surface. I don't stick it directly the fire but hold it over the fire so much better solution for me. This version is hard to find as most stores only sell the cast iron version now.

I had the cast iron and they worked good but so heavy so decided to buy the regular ones took a while to find them but Amazon has pretty much anything you want. These are very nice

Work for sammichs. Not super sturdy, but do the trick.

This is my favorite to make hand pies over the fire and ham and cheese sandwich. It cleans up easy. I sent 2 to my daughter and son in law for their camper.

Put it in the fire to preheat the first time the fam and I went to use it and it melted. This was in 2020 and I’m still miffed about it. Spend the extra $10 and just order yourself a real pizza

So this is my fault for not thinking about the possibility, but all previous camp cookers I've used have been made of a heavier metal than this; I'm pretty sure they were some sort of iron. I saw this as a cheap alternative and bought it, thinking "what's the worst that could happen?" In my previous experience, after you made something in these, you'd let them sit in the fire so that the excess food could burn off. I applied the same thought process to this product and soon found it had melted into the fire! It's made of aluminum, so it's going to melt much much more easily than an iron set would.

Grandson is a picky eater. With some minor supervision he will be able to grill his own cheese sandwich. I bought the Campfire Treats cookbook to compliment the cooker. The pictures and recipes are easy and will work well with this cooker.

I've had one like this for years, we bought these ones for gifts I like mine so much.

Works great for sandwiches, pocket pizza or fruit pies and cleans up easy.

These are for my dad's birthday, as he remembers back in the day when he was younger with some friends around a campfire making cherry pie desserts with them. They came pretty quickly, and looked exactly like the photos, and do not seem like cheap material. Only thing would be they really need to relook at packaging...... a huge box for 2 x small and thin items.... wasteful.
