The birds love them!
Our wild birds seem to like these suet cakes best of all.

Good suet for our California Birds
The Mealworm Delight No Melt Suet Dough is well liked by most of our winter backyard birds. In our San Francisco Bay Area backyard our suet feeder is visited by Nuttall's Woodpeckers, Dark-eyed Juncos (Oregon), White-breasted Nuthatches, Pygmy Nuthatches, Yellow-rumped Warblers (Audubon's), Chestnut-backed Chickadees and Oak Titmouse. A suet cake in our yard lasts approximately 9 days. Occasionally, I spread some of the leftovers on the ground and the California Scrub Jays and Black Squirrels gobble it up. A couple of our birds wont eat it such as California Towhee, Black Phoebe, Bewick's Wren and a Hermit Thrush which prefers dried mealworms.

The product is very good and birds like it, however the delivery by USPS leaves muc( to be Improved. Because it was put in a bag the post office. Pushed it in the mailbox which is a lock box. Needless to say it was in crumbs. Out of the four one was able to be put into the suet feeder. The other three had to. Be thrown on. The ground. Not what I. Wanted.

Their favorite!
We don't get many woodpeckers or other birds that will eat suet, so one cake lasts about a week, but boy, they sure seem to like this one more than any others I've tried! Maybe it's the meal worms in it, don't know, but when these run out, I'm definitely going to purchase more of these.

Horrible product
This suet was dried and stale when it arrived with very few if any mealworms in it. I ordered it for the mealworms. I tried putting one block out to see if the birds would still eat, but after 10 days, none were interested after their first bite. A complete waste of $20 and no returnable.

A little pricy but the birds LOVE them
Usually if I add something new to the "Food Court" (I offer black oil sunflower, thistle seed in a sock and suet in cages), the birds need a day or so to investigate and start eating. The last kind of suet cake I used was a black oil sunflower mix and it took a month for the birds to make any progress through it. They were on the mealworm suet cake within an hour once I put it up and it was essentially eaten up within a week! I hoped to attract some different birds but got the usual mix of titmice, house finches, chickadees, Carolina wrens, and nuthatches. Crows appeared for the first time today. Boy do they love this stuff!

The birds canโt resist these
The wild birds in my area are all over these food blocks. We have enjoyed seeing a big range of birds coming in to feed. So fun!
