American History Now (Critical Perspectives On The P)

this is a text for a joint course in the philosophy of history I'm teaching. I look forward to digging into it.

A perfect book for History M.A. students studying for Comps exams, this book provides historiography for American history-- essentially important for those with Modern America as a major field.

GREAT BOOK, PRICE, SERVICE

This is easy to read, but does little more than give an overview of historical events. It might be a good place to start if you know nothing about a time period and want an introduction, but if you are looking for more detailed information, you will have to look further than this book. It also makes a lot of out-of-place references to various scholars, which I suppose would be useful if you wanted to get some names of scholars that have done work on a topic, but for my purposes, was annoying. I wish this book had a little more meat and a little less overview. Also, I ordered the kindle edition and I can't find a table of contents anywhere! It is thus hard to navigate and find certain chapters immediately.

Great book for everyone. Professor Eric Foner is amazing. He should have Nobel Prize.

Useful accompaniment to the undergraduate curriculum. This offers a good background reading that provides a foundation for further study.

J'ai signalé à Amazon que le format Kindle du livre marchait mal sur ma tablette Windows 8, alors que mes autres livres Kindle marchent bien et que sur mon PC Windows 7, ce livre marche. La personne devait contacter l'éditeur et ne m'a jamais donné de nouvelles. Je lui ai conseillé de signaler ce problème pour ceux qui achèteraient ce livre mais à priori, il ne l'a pas fait non plus.Est-ce que le format Kindle, quand on achète, s'adaptera vraiment aux avancés de l'informatique? Ou paierons nous un livre, au prix d'un livre, juste pour pouvoir l'utiliser le temps de notre ordinateur actuel?
